Hello TVAH family! As the school year approaches we have teachers starting this week and we are working so hard to prepare for our students this school year. We are here for the purpose of growing your students and providing quality education. Everyone has come to our school for a reason and we look forward to meeting your student's needs! Be on the look out for updates as we get closer to the first day of school

As Nicholas approaches our coast, we want all of our families here in Texas with us to know that our thoughts are with them during this time.

As always, our priority is the safety of our students and staff. It is crucial for us to remain in communication and let us know if you are impacted by the storm and unable to attend classes or complete assignments. We will do all that we can to support.

Mrs. Miller, our 3-8 electives AP, is enjoying her summer by spending time at the aquarium and exploring state parks on her paddle board. When she isn't out exploring, her favorite thing to do is hanging out in her backyard with a good book.

Don't forget it's Teacher Appreciation Week! We are so thankful for the staff here at TVAH!

Due to statewide issues with the Texas Education Agency's testing system for STAAR exams, testing for today has been canceled. This is a statewide issue, and is not controlled by the district and/or Stride schools. The Texas Education Agency has canceled testing for the day while ETS works to resolve issues. The rescheduled date has not yet been determined, but we will keep you updated as this situation evolves. Thank you for your patience and understanding.-- If your student was at a test site, you may pick them up now. If you were scheduled for an afternoon session, you do NOT need to attend.

Shout out to our amazing 4th graders who will be taking writing STAAR over the next few weeks. Your teachers are so proud of all the hard work you have put in over this year!

Dear Students and Learning Coaches,

We understand that this has been an extremely challenging week for our students, their families, and our faculty and staff. Access to power and water continues to pose major concerns for many of us. First and foremost, we hope that this message finds you all safe.

Live sessions will begin as normal on Monday, February 22nd for all grade levels. It will be important to engage in required sessions and other instructional supports to prepare grade-level success.

If you find yourself without power or internet access, or if you are displaced, please reach out to your advisor. We can work with our social workers to help find local resources for you. If the effects of the weather still limit your school attendance next week, please be sure to reach out to [email protected] to keep us informed of your situation.

Dear Students and Learning Coaches,

Beginning this weekend and predicted to continue through the rest of the week, most counties in Texas are under a Winter Storm Warning. Due to the plunging temperatures and accumulation of snow and ice, we know that rolling blackouts and electrical outages may make virtual learning a challenge this week.

With this in mind, we will be moving to an asynchronous schedule this week, from Tuesday, February 16th through Friday, February 19th. Live sessions will not be scheduled, however, your daily assignments will be available. We encourage you to work as you are able.

Please contact our attendance team at [email protected] if the outages effect your ability to access classes this week.

Our team of teachers, advisors, and administrators are still here to support you. Feel free to continue to reach out as needed.
