We often times focus so much on how to lose weight or be fit that we forget about the most important component: mental health and wellness.
We can not be in a healthy physically fit place if we are not mentally fit.

Can I tell you how much this changed my life?
The constant nit-picking of “my butts too big, my chest is too flat, I hate my thighs” controlled my thoughts, what I would wear, even sometimes if I would go out.
Since not only making peace, but also embracing all of these things about me, I am in a much happier place.
I wish this for EVERYONE!
Who's up for a nutrition "challenge" with me!? Shoot me a DM :)
What do you do for self care?
Tell me your favorite way to unwind and reset! No matter how big or small, I want to hear it!
It is World Mental Health Day and I feel that it is such an important topic to address. Especially after this past year and a half.
During this pandemic, we have seen an increase in depression, anxiety and many other mental health “issues”.
I found myself struggling with emotions I don’t normally experience. And I know I was not alone.
I talk about the importance of having a toolbox, things you know help when you’re feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, etc.. For me, exercise will always be at the top of that list. But let’s talk about some other tools I like to suggest:
📖 Journaling:
Journaling does not need to be perfect writing in a beautiful notebook. For some, this is certainly desirable; but for others, drawing, painting, scribbling, simply writing words can be very therapeutic! Just write. You can tear it up, keep it for later reading, do as you desire. But just give it a try!
🙏 Guided meditation:
I cannot lie, I have been teaching guided meditation for years, but I still struggle to find the silence personally. I like using guided mediation to help keep me on track. Focusing on the breath and the words can be relaxing and help ease the mind.
🧘♂️ Gentle yoga:
A simple child’s pose or legs up the wall can be extremely relaxing for the body and help ease tension. When used with deep breathing exercises, it can help calm the nervous system.
👃 Box breathing:
This can be beneficial when experiencing anxiety as it gives you something to focus on. Inhale for a slow count of 4, hold for a count of 4, exhale for a count of 4, hold for a count of 4. It is preferable to inhale through the nose (I like to say “at the top of your nose, between your eyes) and exhale through the nose or the mouth, whichever feels most comfortable to you.
Finally, PLEASE never ever be afraid to reach out for help! See a counselor. It is so amazing to have a 3rd party who knows nothing about you hear you speak and see a different side of the story. If the first one or two don’t work out, try a third.
There is nothing wrong with seeking help! ❤️🙏❤️🙏
My Ebook is complete and ready for purchase! I am so excited, nervous, you name it... but I sincerely hope I am able to reach a wide range of individuals and help them reach their goals! I want everyone to find that healthy relationship with food
Emotional Eating: a self-help guide | Etsy Emotional eating is something that many of us struggle with in life. Finding a healthy balance with nutrition, fitness and mental health is a goal that I personally was challenged with for many years. This Ebook will help guide you through finding that peace with guided meditation, journaling, and
A large piece of the puzzle when it comes to a long term healthy lifestyle is the mind-body connection.
Many of us are very disconnected from our bodies. We get frustrated with them, angry when they won’t do what we want them to and call them “fat”, “ugly”, and other terms that are not beneficial for the mind or the body.
In addition to your breathing exercises I gave you earlier this week, I want you to pay attention to how you speak to your body. Try to replace some of the negative comments with a positive one.
Again, I can’t stress just how crucial this is to your long-term healthy lifestyle (and weight loss for some) ❤️
Want to know what the ultimate career goal is in life? To help individuals find the beautiful space of loving their body for all it can do for them. Yes, healthy eating is important; but life can become dull and the cycle of trying to lose weight becomes extremely challenging when we are consistently putting down our body.
Try this short meditation today:
Find a quiet space
Get comfy (sit, stand, lay; you decide)
Take 5 deep breathes, in through the nose, out through the mouth
Say "thank you" to your body for something it allowed you to do today
Hear your body say "thank you for respecting me today"
Practice this daily this week and notice how you begin to appreciate your body for all it can do for you!
My eBook will launch on Sunday, 10/10! I have worked so hard on this project and I cannot wait to help a larger group of individuals reach a healthy relationship with food!
Stay tuned Saturday for a little preview of what the book will all involve. This is an interactive book that you will be able to download on your phone or tablet and use as you desire. There will be homework, deep reflection, and some things that may be scary to find out or admit. But we cannot grow without these items!
Be sure to find me on IG for live videos, check-ins and more information regarding this eBook
The emotional eating roller coaster… been there, done that. It was a personal struggle for many years.
Unfortunately, COVID hasn’t helped in this department for many. I am hearing from countless people how they turned to food during lockdown. The stress of everything going on has them using food as a crutch.
I’m so excited to tell you that I am nearly done with my interactive e-Book on emotional eating. It will help guide you with guided meditations, homework and knowledge to help you make long-term change when it comes to your relationship with food.
Stay tuned! I’ve worked hard on this over the past 3 years and it’s ALMOST DONE! 😃 Follow me on Facebook at Bliss Holistic Fitness and on IG
I know I've been MIA... I've missed y'all, but hear me out 😉
I feel like I’ve lost my mojo. I love writing, hoping to inspire and connect with individuals who I may never meet. And in return being inspired by these same individuals.
I could blame COVID, politics and social media. But I preach about personal responsibility. And I am going to put my big girl pants on and practice what I preach.
A few years ago, I started an e-Book on emotional eating. I’m about 99% finished with it (I’ve updated it as necessary) and I have that 1% left to complete.
Why am I not finishing it? If I’m being honest, it’s because I’m nervous. I’m nervous to see the response. Social media has allowed for people to be so rude and “honest” as they hide behind their screens.
There will always be haters.
So I’ve decided to throw this out to the world. Check in on me. Ask me when my e-Book will be available. Hold me accountable, social media.
I’m going to do this.
