After 15 years of riding in the , this year I am not…I’ll be running the show with the rest of the team in my role as Ride Director! This Thursday is my birthday and a match from ! If you would like to give to my page, please do so on that date. The HCRA has taught me so much about kind people taking action and I’m proud to serve in my role to raise funds for Central Texas. I will forever be grateful for the people that the has brought into my life; they are the reason I invite others to join. Over and over, I’ve found heroes, friends, and community in a world where these things are harder to find. This was our kickoff and the party is just getting started.

Happy Birthday to my best friend . The man who let me couch surf for 6 months, adopt a street dog during that time, plan events on his birthday, and still wants to talk on the phone every day. The world hasn’t seen how special you are yet, but I do every day.

Thanksgiving is always a weird time to celebrate my , because, obviously it’s a meat centric holiday. But 18yo Eli didn’t shy away from it, so 36yo Eli doesn’t either. In August, I’ll cross a date to where I’ve officially been a vegan for the majority of my life and the only advice I have is to never let people tell you that you can’t do something when it’s important to you.

A year ago, today, I woke up to a post on FB asking someone to take in a homeless dog who had been wondering the streets; the temperature was going to drop below freezing that night. I told myself that I’d go get him if no one else did, and at around 8pm that night, I was driving to far east Austin to search for the little guy. I had no idea how special he was and how much joy and love that he would bring to my life. Happy birthday/gotcha day, Olly Angelo Parton. You are my little luck dragon.

I am so lucky to get to share the stage with these people. Since my senior year of college, I have looked up to them for how hard they work to support others. Selflessly giving their time and energy to the causes we fundraiser for. Now it’s time to go out there and follow in their footsteps, aye? Anyone else looking for a way give back and fight in these days where it seems like so much is out of our control? The can be that opportunity ❤️ Registration starts December 1st!
