A skirted table with pops of color “rounds” out this lovely Parisian style living room.
Looking back at a guest bath we did a few years ago…still love the calm vibe of the light gray walls and white tiles.
Marilyn Monroe, who died 62 years ago today, spent part of her life in Palm Springs, owning a home in Las Palmas that she shared with then husband Joe DiMaggio. This statue of the Hollywood icon, entitled “Forever Marilyn” by Seward Johnson, was first unveiled in downtown Palm Springs in 2012, removed after two years and then reinstalled in front of the Palm Springs Art Museum in 2020. The statue is now set to be relocated again after a protracted legal battle. One of the core issues is the artist’s “artistic license” to show Marilyn’s backside and underwear exposed- which was never shown in the original scene from the film “The Seven Year Itch”.
Navy tiles, gray limestone and dark wood casings balance the clean white walls in this Oregon primary bath.
The summer Olympics are here! I’m so excited to watch these Paris games!

An unexpected (and first in person!) sighting last week in Palm Springs of the SpaceX launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base.
The best base for a table- whether one of the available Saarinen tops work or I need to customize my own. In this guest house, we used a custom quartzite top to fit the built-in banquette.
While I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad bank experience, I can’t say that I’ve ever enjoyed one as much as the one I had this past Friday at the Bank of America in Palm Springs. After a 3 year extensive renovation and restoration, the building is back in top form and is a mid-century joy to experience. Built in 1959, It was originally designed for City National Bank by Victor Gruen & Associates, who were influenced by Le Corbusier’s 1954 Colline Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp, France. They are getting used to folks dropping in for photos, so do so if you are in the desert!

I’m such a sucker for a tv show with a great set or great fashion; they keep me company while I’m working and provide endless creative inspiration. Here are some of my favorites:
1.Don Draper’s Manhattan apartment, “Mad Men”.
2/3. Midge’s apartment, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
4. Cory’s apartment, “The Morning Show”. 5/6. Scenes from “Bridgerton”
From fabric swatches to bespoke living rooms.
