Good afternoon! Our hospital is in need of towels for our feline patients! We let our kitties chill out under pheromone-infused towels to ease stress during their visits. Kashmir here agreed to be our smoldering model, demonstrating the comfort the towels can provide.

If you have new or gently used bath towels you can spare, we would be very appreciative! Donations can be dropped off at the hospital during our operating hours of Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 8am-2pm.

Thank you!

As we head into the hottest months of the year, we want to remind everyone about the dangers of leaving pets in the car. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures can rise rapidly, putting your furry friends at serious risk of heatstroke and dehydration. ☀️🐾

Another reminder to consider the heat before taking your elderly or brachiocephalic pets ( or smushed-faced friends, as we sometimes call them 😋) outside as it can become very uncomfortable quickly and makes it difficult to breathe.

Happy 4th of July from our team to you!

As we gather to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, let's not forget our furry companions! Here are some tips to keep your pets safe and calm during the festivities:

🎇 Create a Safe Space: Make sure your pets have a quiet, comfortable place to retreat away from the noise.
🐶 Keep Them Indoors: Fireworks can be frightening for pets. Keep them indoors and secure windows and doors.
🐱 Update ID Tags: Ensure your pets' ID tags and microchip information are up to date, just in case they get scared and run off.
🐾 Avoid Fireworks: Never use fireworks around pets. They can cause severe burns and trauma.
🎆 Watch the BBQ: Be mindful of what your pets eat. Certain foods can be harmful to them.

Wishing everyone a safe and joyful 4th of July!

🚨 Important Reminder! 🚨

The 4th of July festivities typically kick off this weekend. Don’t wait! Call us today to get the medication your furry friends need to make the holiday less scary. Let’s keep them calm and comfortable during the fireworks!

As the holidays approach, we'd like to remind you all to prepare for an event where your pet may be separated from you. Fireworks and block parties can sometimes cause our furry friends to run off, and we have a few tips to help you prepare in case of this event:
-Prior to taking your pet out for a holiday party/event please ensure all information is up to date at the vet office. This includes name, address, phone number, and making sure their microchip is registered to the correct party.
-Next, high visibility collars and vests are very helpful in the event that you must look for your dog in an unfamiliar area. This paired with a tag that displays owners information is vital to ensuring a safe return of your furry friend.

🌞🐾 Happy First Day of Summer! 🐾🌞

Summer is officially here, and we can’t wait to hear about all the fun activities your pets enjoy during this sunny season!
What’s your pet’s favorite summer activity? Swimming, hiking, lounging in the shade? Let us know in the comments and share your best summer pet photos!

Some Summer Safety Reminders: If the pavement is too hot for the back of your hand, it is too hot for their paws! Also please be mindful of temperature, brachiocephalic dogs should not go out above 75 degrees as it puts a lot of stress on their respiratory system and can cause heat stroke and other related problems. Lastly, please never leave your pet in a car unattended, especially in the heat. Temperatures can rise rapidly in cars and can potentially pose many dangers to your pets.
Please keep these summer safety tips in mind and have a blast this summer!

Some good hot weather tips!!

This week’s dangerously hot conditions are a safety concern for pets as well as people.

Animal Friends suggests the following guidelines to keep your pets safe in the sweltering heat:
• Provide ample shade and fresh, cool water.
• Limit exercise outside during the hottest parts of the day. Walk your pets early in the morning or in the
evening when the temperatures are cooler. And take water with you.
• If you do have outdoor pets, consider bringing them into a cool basement or garage.
•NEVER leave your pet in a parked car. When it's 85 degrees Fahrenheit outside, the temperature inside your car can heat up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit within 10 minutes. Your pet could suffer irreversible organ damage or die.
• Keep your pet off of hot pavement which can burn their feet. On a 90-degree day, pavement can reach
temperatures of 150°F

Your pets can’t tell you if they’re too hot or ask for a cool drink of water. Be extra vigilant.

If you’re hot, your pets are too!
