🍷SABÍAS POR QUÉ LAS BOTELLAS DE VINO SON DE 750 ml...?
Las botellas de vino son generalmente de 750 ml (75 cl) y no de un litro (1.000 ml). ¿De dónde viene esta especificación?
La capacidad de una botella de vino se normalizó en el siglo XIX y surgieron las explicaciones más locas de este hecho, que correspondían a:
- La capacidad pulmonar de un vidriero;
- Consumo medio en una comida;
- La mejor capacidad para conservar el vino;
- Facilidad de transporte ...
- Nada de esto.
En realidad se trata simplemente de una organización práctica con una base histórica:
En ese momento los principales clientes de los productores de vino franceses eran los ingleses. Pero ellos nunca adoptaron el mismo sistema de medidas que los franceses.
La unidad de volumen de los ingleses era el “galón imperial” que era equivalente a 4.54609 litros.
Para simplificar las cuentas de conversión, transportaron vino de Burdeos en barriles de 225 litros, es decir, exactamente 50 galones, correspondientes a 300 botellas de 750 ml. (75 centilitros).
Siendo más fácil el cálculo, adoptaron que un barril = 50 galones = 300 botellas.
De esta forma un galón correspondía a 6 botellas.
De hecho, por eso aún hoy las cajas de vino suelen tener 6 o 12 botellas ”.
