Dr. Shekar is triple board-certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine and brings over three decades of experience to our patients facing cancer and other blood disorders. Dr. Shekar is a familiar face here at CBCC, as he worked with us for over 10-years before moving to Porterville in 2018. With sincere gratitude and emotion, we congratulate Dr. Alan Cartmell, a highly respected and cherished member of our CBCC family, as he embarks on his new journey of retirement! 👏👏👏

Dr. Cartmell's remarkable career began with his graduation from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1983, followed by the completion of his internship, residency, and oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University in 1988. Shortly thereafter, in 1989, he joined Dr. Ravi Patel at CBCC, marking the beginning of an extraordinary partnership and contribution to the care of countless patients. 🩺

For over three decades, Dr. Cartmell has exemplified the highest standards of medical expertise, compassionate care, and leadership. His unwavering commitment to his patients and colleagues has left an indelible mark on all of us.

While we will deeply miss his presence, wisdom, and dedication, we are excited for him as he enjoys this new chapter of life.
