The Rescue Squad and Engine Company assisted AACo Fire Department on a Structure Fire in Glen Burnie this afternoon.

He was recognized last week during Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce's Community Safety Awards event. He has worked his way up the ranks since joining the department in 2016, recently accepting the role of Acting Lieutenant in the department's Training and Research Division. In the past year, he has led the training of firefighters transferring from Martin State Airport while also taking on additional duties.
We thank him for his dedication.

We would like to thank General Secretary-Treasurer Frank Lima for visiting with on shift personnel recently.
Members provided a warm welcome, tour of our facility, equipment and mission as well as discussions of the ongoing union efforts at BWI Airport Fire and Rescue Department.

It is with great sadness that IAFF Local 964 Baltimore Fire Officers announce the death of active member Lieutenant Dillon J. Rinaldo, Engine Co. #46. Last night, he succumbed to injuries sustained in the line of duty while operating on Box Alarm 46-40 on October 19, 2023. He was a six year veteran.
Viewing and funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. We would like to thank the public for your continued support and ask that you please keep Lt. Rinaldo's family and fellow firefighters in your prayers.

Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighter Wayne Wi******er was injured in a fall at his home on October 7. He suffered spinal injuries and is currently at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore recovering from surgery. Our Brother has a long road ahead of him toward recovery and will have substantial expenses along the way. Please consider giving to help out.

We enjoyed our time at the 46th Annual J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam bake. Representatives from Local 1742 were able to speak with numerous officials. We thank them for taking the time to speak with us and learn more about our system.
As the only state funded fire department we are in a unique position legislatively. We welcome this challenge and will continue to build as many friendships as possible with members of The Maryland General Assembly and more. We appreciate the time some of the following individuals gave to us and look forward to working towards some of our short and long term goals!
This week some of union leadership was able to attend the 28th biennial professional firefighters of maryland (PFFMD) conference. We want to thank all the speakers and enjoyed our time with our brothers and sisters from across the state of maryland.
It’s been a very busy few weeks for Local 1742. We want to say thank you to members of the Anne Arundel County Delegation who came out to tour our fire house and learn more about our system. This week our Hazardous Materials Technicians continue to sharpen their skills during required annual training.
This training ensures that our team is ready for any HazMat emergency that occurs at the airport and also in surrounding areas.
Multiple scenario based drills will be staged and mitigated every day.
