We are saddened to hear about the passing of former AFSCME Local 1870 member Charlene Gray. She served as her local union's president for over 15 years, always ready to spring into action to defend her fellow union members and to fight for what's right.

Our union family and the Baltimore City Community College community will miss her steady and joyful presence. Rest in power, Sister Gray.

Earlier this month, we lost AFSCME Local 44 member Ronald Silver II, whose death could have been prevented by the sort of heat protections we've been demanding for years. We can't let another summer go by without a strong, statewide heat stress standard.
