Earlier this month, we attended Night Market: Hội An By Night hosted by ! We had so much fun celebrating Vietnamese culture, and some of our sisters got to perform our stroll!

💗 Hᴀᴘᴘʏ Bʀᴇᴀsᴛ Cᴀɴᴄᴇʀ Aᴡᴀʀᴇɴᴇss Dᴀʏ 💗

Breast Cancer Awareness is alpha Kappa Delta Phi’s national philanthropy and has been since 1998. This past weekend, two of our sisters participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. They walked in honor of breast cancer survivors and caregivers.

Throughout the month of October, our sisters strive to spread awareness through education, fundraising, and service events. Breast cancer impacts so many lives and the fight is not over!

Get ready for an overload of sweetness because the Sisters of UMBC aKDPhi would like to present to you all our Sweetest Guy Pageant 2022! Come out to see our contestants perform and answer questions about our philanthropy, Breast Cancer Awareness, to try to win over the “Sweetest Guy” title. The event will take place on Thursday, October 27th from 7:30-9pm at Lecture Hall 101.

This week (9/19-9/23) is National Hazing Prevention Week. Hazing is “any action take or any situation created intentionally that causes embarrassment, harassment or ridicule, and risks emotional and/or physical harm to members of a group or team, whether new or not, regardless of the person’s willingness to participate.”

It is a violation of federal and state laws, UMBC policy, and we, the Sisters of UMBC aKDPhi, do not condone any form of hazing.
In observance of National Hazing Prevention Week, our sisters had the opportunity to attend a hazing prevention workshop (“Big Dawgs Don’t Haze”) led by a UMBC Peer Health Educator () and we have all taken the hazing prevention pledge through HazingPrevention.org.
