Kentucky Army National Guard Drill Weekend B3

Hey guys, SSG Rhode here! I get asked all the time on what happens at drill with our new soldiers so I wanted to share my experience of the great weekend that our soldiers from Bravo 3 RSP had at our army training center. This weekend we conducted training in a lot of different things, including PT, classroom training, camouflage, and obstacle course!
PT is definitely always one of my favorite sessions. They had to do a mix of running, jumping, and crawling, and were constantly given feedback on form and technique.
The soldiers definitely felt the burn from the push-ups we did at the beginning of day one and the running on day two. Leadership and Cadre was fantastic, always encouraging the soldiers and making sure everyone stayed safe.
The classroom training was also really interesting. They were taught about military customs and courtesies, tactics and even some basic army skills. It was refreshing to see these kids learn about these things from a military perspective instead of just from school.

Camouflage was another big part of the weekend. They were given some amazing assignments to complete like properly applying face paint and the importance of the different techniques.
Finally, we also took them on the obstacle course. It was a bit challenging, but they all pushed through and finished strong. Our teamwork was crucial to our success, and we couldn't have done it without each other.
Overall, this weekend was an amazing time, and I feel so grateful to be a part of Bravo 3 RSP. Can't wait to see what the next month drill weekend brings! If you want to be apart of this amazing weekend then contact me at 606-269-2450 now!

High school juniors and seniors, I need y’all to do something. Go apply for a part-time job at any fast food, factory, hospital or grocery store around. During the interview tell them that you are only going to work one weekend a month and two weeks out of the summer, you’re going to pick your position and you expect full paid training in the position you choose. In exchange for your one weekend a month and two weeks out of the summer, you expect low-cost health insurance, frequent raises and promotions, retirement, the ability to pursue other careers simultaneously, and monthly pay after your paid job training. Then tell them that you are going to go to college full time while you work for them and they’re going to cover the cost of it along with paying you to go. Soldiers from the Bravo Company Detachment 3 RSP station conducted our regular scheduled drill this weekend. Started off day 1 by breaking into different phases and working out. Then we broke for lunch and then phase training. We all gathered and navigated our way through the Obstacle course as a team. Day two all soldiers of Somerset KY met and did a tough circuit training workout and finished with both PVT Maggard and PVT Brown getting promoted to the rank of PVT E2. Congratulations both of you. As a Recruiting and Retention NCO in the KY Army National Guard I get asked what drill weekends are like. KYNG B-3 RSP conducted its monthly training this weekend. We started Drill with all new soldiers taking the Army Combat Fitness Test, they were challenged for sure. Afterwards we broke into our phases and conducted training. BOOM SON 💥 Saturday complete!
Sunday morning we met at Somerset Armory and went on a 3+ mile hike(some challenged themselves by carrying a ruck)
