5 Signs of Healthy Bowel Function 💩

1. Regular Bowel Movement
You don't have to p**p everyday to have healthy bowels. The goal is have easy, pain -free p**ps, anywhere from 3 times a day to 3 times a week.

2. Well Formed Stool
The best stool consistency is firm with crack or soft but formed. Ideally, your stool should be type 4 on the Bristol Stool Chart (see slide), but a 3 is great too.

3. Complete Emptying
You should be able to easily and completely empty your bowel without needing to run back to the bathroom a few minutes later because you have to p**p again.

4. You Can Hold It
We've all had the urge to p**p at an inappropriate time. If your bowels are working well, you can hold it, without experiencing any leaks.

5. Brown Is Best
Healthy p**p is brown in color. Notice black or blonde stool? See your doctor, as it may indicate that something is off in your gastrointestinal system.
