50% off nearly everything! Through the end of August. 🕺🏻
(And this is a tax-free weekend in Ohio!)
Please share!
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
For the month of August, I am having a "50% off of nearly everything because although you guys are awesome and the store is doing awesome and I've had a blast for the last 10 months, retail is just not my mo-jo" sale!
So, if vintage is your vibe, come and grab some really cool stuff at super groovy prices, and help me fade Ava's into a good memory. ❤️🙏
p.s. please feel free to share. 😃
Open Thursday- Sunday, 10-4
Good vibes and cool beans at Ava's right now. 20% off nearly everything through the end of July. 🕺🏻

Alright hipsters. Beat feet and get over here. 20% off nearly everything in the store. Today and tomorrow the 20th. And maybe next week too! It's the slow time of year for retail and I need to keep this groovy stuff agitating the gravel. 🕺🏻
Art Deco era (1930's?) inlaid folding card table in excellent condition. Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald probably sat at this table playing cards and smoking ci**rs. This is the kind of piece I have a hard time not taking home! 😆🕺🏻

Hey Dames and Daddios! Got some new hip grooves on the dance floor...
🕺🏻
All right, y'all. Help me. The stand on the right is obviously a book or music stand. Maybe for a Bible in a church setting? But what the heck is the stand on the left? Any ideas?
"1960 Happy Valentines Day to my honey!" Handwritten on this Pete Fountain album. I love finding these little notes and signatures on vintage stuff.

Photo dump from yesterday's hunting and gathering! 🕺🏻
I got this really cool table, but I'm not sure if this was made in the 70s or made yesterday. 😆
The really thick boards and general style are typical of 70s furniture, I'm just not sure about the cross/clover design cut into the side of it. Is that something you would've seen in the 70s? Anybody have an opinion?

Wow! Super kind words from a couple of amazing people right here in Batavia!
Through out our “adventures” in our community we will frequently come across a stand-out independent small business that shares many of the same standards we have when it comes to quality of service, products, and a passion for taking care of clients/customers.
We thought we would take some time each week to share them with you all. This week we want to tell you about Ava’s Vintage Market on East Main in Historic Batavia.
Filling the space of the old Ben Franklin (they still have the original BF letters on display inside), this trip down memory lane brings you back to the glory days of solid wood furniture, vibrantly colored upholstery, brass and glass from the 70s and 80s, and even velvet Elvis Art for your walls.
The brain child of Joe Letsche, Ava’s is an homage to his Grandmother. Joe spent many years in service to the green spaces and wildlife in our state as the former director of the Ross County park district. When Joe and I first met (I was picking up a beaver lamp for our office), we spent probably a good 45 minutes talking about wildlife and the community, his background in herpetology is extensive and I could have been there for hours.
If you are a Gen Xer or Millenial with a hankering or love of the color palette of our youth, like Kandace and I do, stop on down to Ava’s and pick up a piece or two and support an independent business in our community dedicated to preserving the past.
You can find them on FB at https://www.facebook.com/share/egdhAqUBN34GBTmy/?mibextid=LQQJ4d.
We got cool luggage for your vacay! 🕺🏻
Just picked three of grandpa's old metal porch chairs! (Not MY grandpa's. I almost got shot getting them off the front porch). 😆🕺🏻

These midcentury suncatchers are the real deal and hard for me to let go of! That sunburst might have to go home with me for a while. 😃☮️

It's not often that I actually feel a sense of pride in any accomplishments I might make, but I must admit that I do feel proud of my reviews. I just realized that I have accumulated 13 reviews (4 on Google and 9 on f/b marketplace) in the last few months since I started Ava's, all of which are five stars. 🕺🏻 Just gives me a sense of contentment and happiness I guess that I treat all people with the respect they deserve as humans. And it has nothing to do with whether or not that person is going to buy something from my store. So if you took the time to leave me a good review, thank you!
The question is...are these Merry Mushroom ceramics? or Sears? or they the same thing? Or are they something else entirely? Does the actual manufacturer matter? Can anyone shed some light on the subject?
They're pretty fly regardless. 😍
This is a vintage liquor decanter. The unusual shape is due to the fact that it was intended for use on a boat or ship; all the weight is in the bottom so it won't tip over when the boat rocks back-and-forth.

IMHO, this Lunar Goddess candle is especially cool!
I acquired an absolutely groovy handmade mid-century piece today! (thank you to Melissa in Amelia!) 🕺🏻
($114)
Wow. A cool chick named Jessica came in the store today and made this TikTok video while she was here. Thank you Jessica!

Just acquired a pile of jerseys! (44 to be exact.) Most are in the $10-$20 range. 😃
Hunting and gathering. Just picked up this mid-century typewriter stand with the little bendy lamp!
We would love to see the vintiques in your house that you love. Pretty please?
($priceless)
Can't beat a good mid-century political statement now and again. 😆 I wonder what words actually passed through this megaphone?

Mid-Century Credenza up in this love shack! This bad boy is nearly 8 feet long. We think it was intended for office use considering the locks, the heavy construction, and the sheer size.
Here's a good customer story for you.
An older gentleman came into the store the other day and a Janis Joplin record on the wall lead our conversation to Woodstock. He said that he and some friends were on the way to Woodstock (in New York state if you weren't familiar with the location) from Cincinnati in his 'new to him' car. About halfway there they started partying and tripping on Purple Sunshine (L*D). A week later he got sober and found himself in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He had no clue where his car was and never did find it. And never made it to Woodstock. 😂
Now of course I'm not advocating for illicit drug use, but I also don't think it hurts to look back and laugh at ourselves for our own stupidity. 😳
