🧡 Luke & Emma, who have been in our Sing & Sign class since they were 2 months old, have recently graduated. On their final certificates they had acquired over 14 new signs! 😍 Their parents said, "For all of my pregnant and new Mommas, I highly recommend this class - it has truly allowed us to communicate better with the twins!" We love these two chatty wee ones (and their parents) so much! Well done, Luke & Emma! 👏

Chatty Wee One is so excited to announce TWO Saturday classes in November in partnership with in Prairieville.

Join us for baby Sing + Sign and TODDLER Shimmy, Shake + Sign. We are thrilled to debut our toddler curriculum, and we hope you'll join us for a fun Saturday morning on November 7.

Sing + Sign is our baby sign language class offered for babies 2 months - 18 months old, and its primary objective is twofold:

1. to engage your baby and offer them a way to communicate non-verbally
2. to provide a safe space for parents and wee ones to gather and meet

We are excited to resume our in-person classes this month, held at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens under the covered pavilion. Our September Sing + Sign classes begin on Wednesday 9 September at 9:45am, and there are only 4 spaces left! Please email/message if you'd like more info or to reserve your space.

SPOT, SPEAK, SIGN their world!

SPOTTED! Baby M from our Sing + Sign class is pointing at the airplane flyover in BR last week. ✈️ Do you know the sign for airplane? (The ILY sign lays flat and flies forward 🤟.) This is one we learn in class together.

We always remember to SPEAK the word when we show the SIGN. This helps our baby connect the verbal to the nonverbal cue. Since babies often develop nonverbal cues (signs) earlier than speech, we can give our babies the ability to communicate about their world while their speech is still developing. How empowering!

JOIN US! 👐 Chatty Wee One is pleased to offer, for the third month, virtual baby sign language classes.

This in-person class is aimed at babies 18 months and under. However, in the online setting, toddlers can participate! During each 15-20 minute session you can expect to learn and practice some basic feeding signs, additional signs to match our class theme of the day, and lots of singing and rhyming!

Monthly membership for online classes is $15 and includes 4 sessions. Classes are offered live, but replay is available to watch as often as you'd like throughout the month. At the end of the month, you will for sure have learned the basics of baby sign language, as well as a lot of new songs to use with your wee one at home.

March online classes were a success, so we are now booking for April! Our 15 minute sessions begin on Tuesday 7 April and go live every Tuesday of the month at 10am CST. You can watch the class as many times as you'd like. It's fun for the whole family! Monthly membership is $15 - please message or email [email protected] to book your space. 🧡

To offer something for parents at home with their babies (18 months and under), Chatty Wee One is temporarily offering online Sing + Sign mini-classes via Facebook LIVE. Our class will go LIVE 4 times in March, starting Tuesday, March 17, and the videos will be available to view until April 5. Classes will last approximately 15 minutes.

While these classes are merely a rough imitation of the real-deal, in person class, we hope it can provide a way for parents and care givers to connect with their baby in a meaningful way while also limiting person-to-person contact.
