Our Story

The Red Stick Roux Rally is a Gumbo Cook-off hosted by K.I.D.S (non-profit organization) to benefit Youth Oasis, a local children’s homeless shelter. The event will consist of an onsite gumbo cooking competition amongst local amateur cooking teams, live music, entertainment, and culminate with a panel of celebrity judges and “People’s Choice” awarded to the winners . We will be hosting the event on Saturday, February 9th, 2019 at Galvez Plaza in downtown Baton Rouge. Admission will be $10 at the door and will include drink specials and all the gumbo you can eat. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverages will be permitted. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Youth Oasis.
