📣Patient Highlight to wrap up Stroke Awareness Month ❤️
Mrs. Suzette graduated today! 7 1/2 months ago, she started this journey with Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital - 2 weeks in inpatient rehab and the rest with Outpatient Day Treatment. Mrs. Suzette came to BRRH October 2023 after being diagnosed in the acute care hospital with an acute stroke on the left side of her brain - affecting her ability to communicate verbally, walk and complete her activities of daily living. Mrs. Suzette graciously and courageously shared her story of recovery with our Stroke Support Group.
Today she thanked her rehab team "from the bottom of her heart".
We are so proud of your hard work, Mrs. Suzette!
Her motto that she left with us:
"Cherish Yesterday. Dream Tomorrow. Live for Today."

Honored to be a part of the Circle of Red today - 2024 Capital Area Go Red for Women Luncheon - supporting and celebrating stroke survivor, Kayla Aucoin Sacco!
Kayla was named the 2024 Go Red for Women Capital Area Woman of Impact ❤️She raised over $12,000 for the American Heart Association - Louisiana!
Ms. Jo Ann Francois, one of our Stroke Support group members, looked stunning strutting her stuff on the runway during the fashion show! So proud of these 2 ladies!!

Adaptive Yoga

Every body can enjoy a yoga practice. This adaptive form of yoga allows people of different physical abilities to enjoy the relaxing and beneficial practice of yoga. Yoga is a practice that many people use to improve both their physical and mental well-being. Typically, yoga involves a mixture of physical poses, meditation, and breathing techniques. Chair / Wheelchair yoga enables every body to enjoy the benefits of a yoga practice.
