Staff shout out today. Came in this morning and the air conditioning wasn’t cooperating. These fine young men didn’t bat an eye and got right to work. We are so thankful for the youth that make this work happen day in and day out. Come by and see what we have been working on.

Hey there bikers! We have all made it to the shop safely. We will be open 11-4 today out of an abundance of caution and getting us off the road before dark. Please be safe and keep warm.

Shout out to Raising Cane's and Jayden Daniels for investing in our incredible youth and putting their talents to work this Christmas Season! 92 hours of intern/ volunteers hours working these wonderful bikes. With 10 interns helping build 100 bikes.

Today, the Mid City team honored the life and service of Kevin Cundiff. He was a student and mechanic at our shop from 2020-2021. He was always a happy face and brought good energy every day.

Kevin is best remembered for when "...a homeless man passed the shop with NO Shoes. Kevin ran after him and came back with NO Shoes on his feet. He didn't complain. He just went back to work...and we all respected him for that"

Kevin passed last Friday from a car accident after just turning 22years old.

We will remember his compassion and kindness forever.

Thank you for all the kind words and prayers 🙏 y'all have sent our way. Please remember his family and God Bless.

It's FALL WEATHER 🍁🍂🍃!!!

While our Mid City shop is open this Saturday, our youth will be tuning up bikes at the Redstick farmers market! Go check them out and come see us too!

Join The Red Stick Farmers Market, Bike Baton Rouge and Front Yard Bikes on Saturday, April 30th for a bike-centric filled day of fun at the market.

Front Yard Bikes and their youth participants will be offering bike repairs, and will be staffing a bike corral adjacent to the Red Stick Farmers market on the day of the event, giving cyclists a secure place to park their bikes while downtown enjoying the market and other local businesses.
This event will be from 8- 12 pm on 5th and Main Streets.

So many of you shared kind words, shared time, donated bikes, or recovery dollars to help us.

Our youth and staff work tirelessly to take on daily challenges, but the challenges of 2022 have been particularly tough. We are known as problem solvers and we'd like to ask your help in solving a problem facing our organization right now.

Please share the word that over 15 Retrospec bikes were stolen this month (the bikes in this picture). We have solid leads on the adults who stole this inventory, but if you see any of these bikes being sold for prices too good to be true, please share that with us. We are also accepting donations at all times - bikes or other support. Thanks to our supportive community, we have begun to replace what we lost on our sales floor.

Lastly, Please share that FYB is changing hours for services and bikes sales Tuesday to Friday 11-6PM, Saturday 10-4PM. WE will be accepting donations on Monday by appointment 11-3PM.

Please excuse the Progress! We are now open 11-5PM Monday to Friday for minor repairs and sales but our focus is getting the shop in excellent condition for a full scale GRAND reopening on November 19th (White Light Night)!
