Happy Juneteenth! Today, we celebrate freedom!

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. joins in the celebration of to commemorate June 19, 1865, a date two and a half years after emancipation when our enslaved ancestors in Texas, the most remote “slave-holding” state, were finally informed they were free.

As we celebrate freedom, let us never cease in our efforts to empower our communities and elevate our impact in the memory of our ancestors!

Today we celebrate all fathers and father-figures who remain a constant source of strength and support for their families.

Yesterday we started the day by honoring our deceased Sorors. We ended the evening at a golden celebration of a successful conference and the installation of newly elected regional officers.

During the Sisterhood Luncheon yesterday Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter earned three awards for outstanding programming for a Large Chapter!
