Just 3 more sleeps until the Big Event!! I hope you all able to join us on Saturday for My Birthday/Anniversary Fairytale Extravaganza!! So many awesome creators!!!!

Hey Flockers,
8 years since this happened. We left our home not knowing what we would return to. A week later we were finally allowed to return to our neighborhood, we were met with streets lined with family's memories on the curb, and a smell that I will never forget. Once we made our way to our house I could see the water lines and knew we had a mess but at least the house was still there. A friend had agreed to meet me there and had already went in. She came out and prepared me for what was waiting. It's not as bad as what you've seen but it's not the same as it was she said. Our home felt cold and damp even in the Louisiana August heat and the smell I had smelled coming in to the neighborhood was even stronger inside. Damp rugs, ruined clothes, and warped floors. I cried and began to clean, whatever was I to do. It took weeks to get the house clean and the smell out. 3 contractors later and the week of Halloween we finally were able to move back in. Fitting considering the just 3years earlier we had purchased the house and moved in on Halloween. We were considered one of the "lucky" ones, others had no home to return to. I've said all of this to say though the storm might last days and the water might get high, it will come to an end. You might be left with a mess to clean up and Smell (memory) you'll never forget, but never give up!
