We are excited to announce that we are re-launching our Thursday night acting class for adults on February 8th! Classes will be Thursdays from 6:30pm-9pm weekly. In this class, students will be taught on-camera acting for film & television.

Our amazing student at Love Acting Marielle Mckenzie King is a born comedian and will be performing on January 19th at the Manship Theatre. Go get some laughs!!!

Marielle “Mighty” King is an actress, comedian, writer, public speaker, and model. Mighty began her comedic career In December 2021 at The Silly Rabbit Comedy Club. She has since then performed at multiple comedy venues in the south, including Boomerang Comedy Theatre. Mighty King has opened up for acts such as Crystal Powell, Ashima Franklin, both HBO comedians, and Damian Williams. In 2021 she picked up the title of “The Funniest Comedian” at The Boomerang Comedy Theater. Mighty King is represented by Gravity Hill agency and is developing her film career here in Louisiana. Mighty King is a captivating, raw, energetic, multi-talented, and one-of-a-kind entertainer.

Meet our newest instructor! Hannah will be teaching the teen class every Tuesday 6pm-8pm. Class starts next week on Tuesday, January 9th. Class is for ages 13-17. Hannah Papizan is a native of Baton Rouge with a passion for all things dramatic and cinematic. She graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Film Studies. Simultaneously, she earned a second degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Business, Classical Vocal Performance and Digital Media Art. Since graduating, Hannah has worked on feature films and television series as a part of the crew to gain on-set experience. Films and series such as Murder Mystery 2, Crater and 1883. Hannah is a professional actress, who works both in the film and theatre industry, allowing her to pull disciplines and techniques from each medium. Her most recent accomplishment was as the lead role of Sherry in the musical Rock of Ages. However, she is not only a singer, Hannah is also a musician who plays the guitar, ukulele and piano. Hannah has extensive experience working with children and teens with jobs from nannying to camp counselor to acting/vocal teacher. Hannah is looking forward to the opportunity to pass her knowledge and passion for film acting to the students of Love Acting.

Exciting announcement! Professional Actress, Writer, and Producer Hallie Todd is coming to Love Acting to teach her very own 6 Week Course deep diving into scene study and camera technique for advanced and/or professional teen and adult actors!

(If you’re my age you may recognize her from our childhoods as Lizzie McGuire’s Mom)

This course will occur every Saturday 3:00pm-5:30pm from August 19th- September 23rd. Cost for entire course is $400 and must be paid in full by August 12th to keep your spot.

Everyone meet Bill Martin Williams. He is our advanced adult acting coach. He teaches his class every Monday 6:30pm-9pm. This class is for actors who have been in the industry for a minute and already understand the basics of acting for film. A beautiful performance to attend next Friday night! Mighty Women of Theater.

Join Louisiana Art & Science Museum and Theatre Baton Rouge on Friday, February 3rd from 7PM-9PM for Mighty Voices: Mighty Women of Theatre Baton Rouge sponsored by PartnersOne!

Local performers from the Theatre Baton Rouge stage, accompanied by local band Alabaster Stag, will celebrate various singers and songwriters with a cabaret-style performance in Main 1 Gallery at LASM. The gallery currently features Diamonds of History: Mighty Women by Ashley Longshore, the first museum exhibition for New Orleans-based artist and social media maven Ashley Longshore.

The evening's four performers from TBR will be Rebecca Smith, Nya Skipper, Chloé Marie, and Brandy Johnson. All four of these professionally-trained women volunteer with Theatre Baton Rouge and have contributed significantly to Baton Rouge's art & music scenes.
