Want to know how to put a smile on the face of seniors? Let them hang out with a bunch of young kids. Well, they WORE US OUT, but it was worth it!! That's why Phoenix Senior Living hosts a Canoe Kids Camp each year. The children from our staff and residents' families participated for one full day. Our company recognizes the value of relationships and of reminiscing. These very active kids brought energy and cuteness to our community, and we had a BLAST!

Today is PSL Pays It Forward Day! Our staff and resident families raised $470.00 through our t-shirt sales and by collecting change. All monies will go to Alzheimer's Services of Baton Rouge. Together we can MAKE CHANGE!!!!

Senior Prom, part 2!!!

You're never too old for a SENIOR PROM! And we had the TIME OF OUR LIVES celebrating these beautiful residents. Some were dressed to the nines, and with the music playing underneath the disco ball, well, it was MAGICAL!! Prom King (Papa G) and Queen (Dorothy) looked ravishing in their royal prom attire. 👑

Zany, fun, and full of life - that's our Patsy! A former mechanical engineer and accomplished artist as well, Patsy LOVES to dance. And today is her birthday! Happy birthday, Patsy!!

If you know the names "Big Boy" and "Stumpy", you've probably been to The Cajun Village. We had a great time experiencing the Cajun culture and eating some delicious food. We counted everyone as they got back on the bus. No one was left behind. In fact, they walked a little faster on the return back from seeing the alligators. 😉 How many of you have seen "Big Boy" and "Stumpy"? And if you know the story of how "Stumpy" lost part of his limb, please share!

Hey everybody!! We’re celebrating this beautiful lady’s birthday today!! This is Ms. Beverly and if you give her a big smile, she gives you a bigger one right back. 😄. She loves keeping things all neat and clean. We once handed her a broom and she swept the dining room for a couple of hours and loved it!Happy birthday, Ms. Beverly. ❤️

When the sun's shining and there's a cool breeze, you go visit the ducks! Can you tell that Bart was having a good time? We had a great day! Hope yours was as well. 😎

Some pool noodles (excuse the pun), fabric, miniature billiard spheres, mini cue sticks, and solo cups! It's a work in progress, but we are sure having fun with this "portable" pool table. Have to assemble and disassemble each time we use it, so it took some imagination. Mr. Steve has been the main engineer in this project, and he's done a great job thus far. Mr. Mike and RCA Linda jumped in to try their hand as well.

We still haven't figured out how to secure the cups on the corners. Any suggestions? Remember, it has to be disassembled afterwards so the table can be used for other purposes. FYI - we will be adding a "guard" around each cup so nothing flies off the table. A plastic container from a Clorox jug perhaps? Please let us know if you have any ideas. Mr. Steve is anxious to finish this project. He asks about it every day. 🎱

We love to utilize our IN2L (It’s Never Too Late) system. There are so many options for interactive engagement. Camille, one of our volunteers from St. Joseph Academy is here assisting Mr. Mike with a paint by number option. These interactive tools are helpful in utilizing both the right and left sides of the brain.

This is our Ms. Becky. This precious lady celebrated her birthday this week and we just had to brag on her. She’s always giving compliments, encouraging everyone, and spreading love all over the community. Her smile lights up the room. Happy birthday, Ms. Becky!

There's nothing like having multiple generations of families coming together to celebrate with our residents. Here are some highlights from our Cake Walk and Easter Egg Hunt. What a great time!!!

And the winner of the Cutest Pose Contest: this little one! We so enjoyed our Easter celebration this weekend and all the children who came out to see their grands and great-grands. Stay tuned for many more pics of the weekend.

What do you get when you combine Seniors from University High School with Seniors from The Pearl at Jamestown? A LOT OF FUN!!!!!! We had our Sr VS Sr Corn Hole Tournament today and we are WORN OUT by the laughter and the fact that we won BIG...but who's tracking? 🙂 BIG thanks to Mrs. Dana Lux, Choir Director and her seniors from U-High!! They were such gracious hosts and just spoiled us to death. Please stay tuned, as we will be posting a highlight video from our tournament so you can see our seniors in action! Also want to wish the choir a huge blessing as they head off to sing at Carnegie Hall later this week!!!!!
