Not to often when some makes me feel small… lol.. This is Connor Finucane starting OL for Army, one of the hardest working young men I know…Every holiday or break he gets he comes train at our gym… Motivated to succeed, he leaves today around noon and still showed up around 5am to hit his last workout before he heads back… Dude is built different..
I have 2 more goals as a 220lbs lifter...
My priority is to break top 10 all time total...
My second one is to break that dreaded 800lbs squat.....
When I started powerlifting I never thought I would be close to either...
I'm 37 now and I plan on doing them before im 40....
we have a little work to do....
Fun fact: it's only 2 men to compete at 100kg over the age of 35 to total 2000lbs... and myself....
Lead by example...
Set the standards...
was able to go to Worlds 2022 and win some medals and set some records.... Winning isn't the only thing that matters, your discipline and character also matters, and I hope these lifters continue to develop good character while winning and setting prs... As a coach I made some bad calls and technical errors but those will be fixed moving foward and i take account to that....I want to congratulate the lifters on their success this past weekend...
Also thanks to everyone who came and supported us
happy04 1st place open and juniors 60kg
1st place open and juniors 75kg
1st place juniors and 3rd place open 56kg
2nd place juniors 75kg
1st place open 100kg
Day 3 of 3
25hrs down
11 more to go.....
I mean I do other stuff besides lift weights....
I love nature
I decided earlier this week to have a bench and deadlift party at my gym... This event is open to the public with a $5 registration fee and we are trying to start at 6:30pm... it's free to come watch.... We will have food and drinks on a first come basis... The goal is to lift some weight and have fun and if you're bored at home come stop by and show some support.....It will be exciting..... Also there is additional parking in the back..
Stay focused and never give up....
Come and test yourself...
I know we have some big benchers and big deadlifters in baton rouge and surrounding areas....👀👀👀👀👀... I've seen videos at other gyms....🤔🤔
Beauty of nature....
1st set of 3x5 210lbs
At one point 203 was a 3rd attempt
Big squat coming soon…
How to maintain strength during a cut... I've managed to have some good cuts and maybe 2 bad ones...the worst being hybrid showdown......
Day 1 of peak week or cutting week...lol... current weight 237lbs....
Plenty of water...
Plenty of sodium,
Plenty of protein
Moderate fats
Low carbs
Still pretty lean....
So far 2022 has been a good year physically and mentally for me...
I stepped back on the bodybuilding earlier this year and I got my 2k total powerlifting.... I set a few goals and I've achieved them.... We don't know what tomorrow will bring so we must live in the moment...
Before nationals heaviest squat at 640lbs at 75kg ..
We know the strength is there, we are aiming for the mark of the beast in october....
I can say a million things to describe but this man is the epidamny of what it means to be a man of your word.. I've seen him battle injuries and still find a way..
He spent 6 days in the hospital less then 2 weeks before nationals, an it band injury caused an infection led to a hospital stay and yet he still competed.... Couldn't compete in full power but he still did bench only... Resilient, perseverance, loyalty are 3 words I'm going to use... Keep leading by example and being an inspiration......

There are 2 meets coming up in Baton Rouge in July.. With powerlifting not being a popular sport in the area we decided to host a seminar June 11th 2022 at Kode-3-Performance] to go over the ins and outs and what to expect at your meet.. We will discuss weigh ins, rules, equipment etc.. Also we will go in depth on the squat, bench and deadlifts and how to avoid mistakes on meet day.. Afterwards we will have an open gym to give you an opportunity use competition equipment and see how they work. If you're new to the sport or maybe you just have questions I think this will be a perfect opportunity for you regardless of what federation you choose to compete in.. Make sure to secure your spot ASAP

My view..
A quick 505lbs bench...
Death to fake weights..
Congrats to all these guys and gals who competed today...Since the opening of this gym back in 2019, I had 2 visions, one was to give 1st responders a place to vent and workout and the other was to build a powerlifting community... This is just some of the members we have here and I'm thankful for each and everyone...I can go on forever about what people think of us but that's a later topic... What you see is a group of hardworking individuals who share a love for powerlifting and I'm thankful for having you all..
This group brought back multiple state records, a few 1st places and an overall best lifter....
What's next for us....
Always growing...
I personally want to thank everyone who came out today and lifted today.. We appreciated each and every last one of you all... Thanks to the ones who volunteered to be spotters, loaders, judges, Mc's..
We really have something special here and it's only the beginning.....
Once again thanks...
