St. Luke's Episcopal Church BR

St. Luke's is committed to caring for one another, to spiritual growth, and to bringing others closer to God through Jesus Christ. Welcome to St. No problem!

Luke's Episcopal Church, Baton Rouge! Join us for worship as we gather in person and virtually. In-person, we currently hold worship service in the middle school gym on Sundays at 10 a.m. Since the fire tragically destroyed our sanctuary, Pope Hall, and Library on 2/17/24, we have come together in this new space to continue our spiritual journey as we work to rebuild a new church. Can't make it in

There are still items left in the Arts Market! These are precious treasures made from stained glass, hymnals, and burnt wood from our church, as well as watercolor prints, ornaments and plaques of the church.
We’ll be having a sale after church on Sunday (11:00). Come to the choir room and take home a piece of St. Luke’s. All proceeds benefit the fire fund to help us .

Saturday night, on a concrete slab where our beloved church once stood, something glorious happened. Over 300 people from our diocese came together to support St. Luke's rebuilding effort. But there was more. There was fellowship. There was laughing. There was a reunion of friends. There was a love in the air knowing the reason of the night was to rebuild a house of God. The "Spirit of St. Luke's" is alive and well. It didn't leave because of a fire. In the words of The Rev. Tommy Dillon, "The spirit of St. Luke's is still here. We just have to build a church around it."

A sincere THANK YOU to everyone who came to the party, bid online, donated items for the auction, donated party services to make it happen, or worked tirelessly for weeks to pull it off, thank you isn't enough to express our gratitude. We are forever grateful to you for helping us to .

What to wear on Saturday? We'll be outside under "chilled" tents, and the weather looks iffy, so dress is "cute comfort." No need for jackets or heels. Think lunch at a restaurant with friends. We'd love everyone to wear bright colors, as the inspiration for the party is stained glass windows.
See y'all on Saturday - we CAN'T WAIT to celebrate 60 years of "the spirit of St. Luke's" with all of you!

07/18/2024

We have a waiting list for tickets. If you bought tickets, but now cannot attend the party, we ask that you email us at [email protected] & let us know so we can transfer your tickets. Thank you!

Our auction is better than any Amazon Prime Day deal! We have 170 items so far, valued at over $50K!
The event is sold out, but the best $25 you’ll spend this month is an online ticket to bid from home on this stuff!

LIVE AUCTION ITEM PREVIEW:

Y'all. Chuck Davoli, long time St. Luke's parishioner, spent weeks making this replica for us. If this looks familiar to you, you may remember it was a stained glass window above the door exiting the church to Pope Hall near the pulpit of the church. This is a priceless piece of art that will mean so much to so many.

“The Garden of Paradise” contains a cross with a Chi Rho symbol, which are the Greek letters of Christ’s name, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Two doves are sitting on the cross, eating berries from the wreath, to symbolize a celestial banquet, the gifts of eternal life.
