"After Weight Loss Surgery"
With warmer weather coming, we know we need to drink more water during the day , but why not take a different approach to getting your water intake?? Any of these foods would be great snacks to add in during the day to ensure you're getting the right amount of water!
After seven weeks, you will be able to begin your post-surgery diet. This is the regular diet you will follow indefinitely. Continue to prioritize protein for each of your meals. This is your chance to introduce more diverse foods into your menu, so have fun with it!
After the liquid diet stage, you will introduce solid foods with a pureed texture. Over the next few weeks, you will build your body's tolerance for even more solid foods. For the puree stage, you can store containers of high-protein foods. Examples might include refried beans, Greek yogurt, pureed seafood, moist meats, and Tofu.
The liquid diet stage is the same for all bariatric surgeries. You will consume a pure liquid diet for a few weeks. The liquid diet hydrates you and lets your body adjust to the changes put in place by your bariatric surgeon.
Meal prepping is the act of preparing healthy meals ahead of time. Weight loss surgery lets you control the foods you eat and the portions you consume. You don't have to be a master chef to become a skilled meal prepper. Nor do you have to drop a couple hundred on groceries. With the right and most frugal steps, you can succeed at putting together some tasty and convenient meals!

This week we are going to talk about the importance of meal prepping after Bariatric Surgery! Weight loss surgery requires good food choices to maximize weight loss. Meal prepping is an excellent way to introduce healthy eating and stay on track. We don't want you to undo all your hard work and meal prep can help save you headaches and time! Meal prepping can also help you take control of the calories and nutrients you consume.
Today is and we're going to talk about how to use unflavored protein powder in recipes! Meeting your daily protein goal every day can be very time consuming and can lead you to drinking your protein more than the body prefers. Sometimes protein goals are very high... Too high to reach with just food especially in those early months post-surgery. Unflavored protein powder is a great way to give foods that are not naturally rich in protein a boost. Powders can also help patients reach high protein goals and can benefit those patients starting out post-surgery.
Here at BHSET Bariatric/Reflux Center, we have revolutionary treatment for your acid reflux disease! LINX is a simple concept with life-changing potential. The device is implanted during a short, minimally invasive outpatient procedure and provides long-term relief from GERD. LINX is intended for patients diagnosed with reflux disease who are looking for an alternative to continuous acid suppression therapy. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 409.212.5469!
