THIS WAS AN EMAIL I JUST SENT TO MY CLIENTS. IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS OWNER, please tell me in the comments how your manufacturers are treating you! People need to know!

HUGE OWAY PRICE INCREASE COMING!

Michelle Wysong Struck @ Salon Red

Yesterday, yet another manufacturer, sent me a price increase sheet to take place September 27th. This time it was all organic brand OWAY.

I know I have asked all of my Oway clients if they are stocked up, but I am asking before Friday, if you want to stock up, now is the time!

So why Friday? They are giving me an extra 10% off until Friday to order at current prices, with free shipping.
For instance the two popular shampoos, Smoothing and Frequent Use are right now $81 a liter (33 oz large sizes) they are going up to $110!!! ONE HUNDRED TEN DOLLARS! So at 10% off you would pay roughly $72! That’s a 38 dollar savings.

I am putting in a huge order Friday. They will need prepaid and I will deliver them as always.

Yes, I will continue to use some of their products! But man! Let’s be real! And every manufacturer is going up, not a little, but A LOT! Like, I am not sure why it’s THIS MUCH.

Anyway, the shampoos and conditioners are going up the most. We are seeing this in all brands and it’s usually a $25 to 40 dollar increase per liter. Styling products, not as much but still higher. Hair sprays and mousse, as well as all products that have a propellant to get out of the can, have all gone up 30% across the board.

I am constantly experimenting with brands to find the best performers at palatable pricing for me, but mostly for you.
As you have noticed, I am not carrying hardly any inventory. The manufacturers are actively incentivizing the clients to go around the stylist. It sucks, but this is happening in other industry, most notably, veterinary offices. Most vets are being bought out by huge corporations. Vet supply companies are incentivizing larger corporate owned providers and turning their backs on the privately owned. Cutting the small guys off from what they need to take care of clients. So they sell to be able to take care of you, but now have lost control of how they do business with their beloved clients. Ask your vet who owns them now? And most are immediately regretful of the decision, but are left with no choice. My point, this is now slowly happening to us.

Please understand, each and every service provider I talk to is being pushed out of the market and out of business OR being made to conform to business costs and practices that are unethical. I have been fighting tooth and nail to keep the wolves away since Covid. We are all trying to do business as ethically as possible. Thanks for hanging in there with me, with your service providers and the families you help take care of and support.

Consider what you may need from this offering, text me what your list and contact me with pricing questions.
Much Love

I THINK MY FAVORITE NEW THING IS WORKING ON YOUR KIDDOS FOR THE FIRST TIME!

I love that the mums that I work with want to bring me their girls when they are ready to do a first time highlight.

It’s the ultimate honor and I love seeing their faces bloom with a smile when they see a new version of themselves.

I always try to meet the kiddo’s expectations but also respect the mums budget and the fact that they may leverage hair for grades. So that way, if they didn’t get it done again it still looks good nine months from now.

Thank you so much for letting me spend a Sunday, boosting an already gorgeous young woman’s confidence.

They make the skin feel better than chlorinated pools but they can mess with hair too.
A saltwater pool is similar to a regular chemical chlorine pool except for a few important differences. The saltwater system or chlorine generator produces chlorine naturally from the salt in the water that is broken down through the process of electrolytic conversion.
saltwater can help to create texture and volume in your hair, as well as enhance your natural waves or curls.
On the other hand, frequent exposure to salt water can also cause dryness, brittleness, and breakage, especially if you have color-treated hair. he salt in the water can strip your hair of its natural oils, leading to further dryness and damage.
The amount of chlorine is lower and combined with the low levels of salt you won't experience red eyes, itchy skin or the sense that you were swimming in a chemical bath. You can also expect to spend less time balancing chemicals because a saltwater pool is easier to maintain and produce healthy pool water.
Chlorine: Chlorine is an element used to kill bacteria in drinking water and pools, and as an active bleach to remove pigment in color. Chlorine can discolor hair, damage the cuticle and protein, and create an oxidizing effect on elements in the hair. Active chlorine can leave hair feeling gummy when wet, and straw-like when dry. Chlorine can alter the electrical charge on minerals in the hair, causing them to bond stronger to the hair, and may even change the color of certain minerals. The highly charged mineral may, in turn, damage and/or discolor the hair.
So you still need to wet your hair with tap water and wear a swim cap and rinse & shampoo afterward.
