To celebrate those who have served our nation, Harford County will host our annual resource fair for veterans and their families on Saturday, November 12. Our free event will include VA claims and healthcare information, resources and discounts for veterans, free lunch from Mission BBQ, and drawings for exciting prizes sponsored by APGFCU. The opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m., but you can stop by any time until 1 p.m. at the Bel Air Armory, 37 N. Main St. in Bel Air. Our award-winning Photo Gallery of Honor is back this November to recognize veterans for their military service. The photo gallery will include veterans, living or deceased, and will be published every day this month in recognition of Veterans Day. Local veterans, and family members who want to honor them, are invited to submit a photo, preferably in uniform, and information about their service. The Harford County Office of Drug Control Policy will be collecting unused and expired prescription medications on Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For a list of drop boxes throughout the county, visit https://www.harfordcountymd.gov/1951/Prescription-Drug-Take-Back
The Harford County Office on Aging is offering FREE training in First Aid and CPR for caregivers and adult family members who care for individuals 60 and over or those of any age with Alzheimer's or other cognitive conditions. Interested? Contact Char Kilson at 410-638-3025 to register by Oct 7.
Harford County is celebrating adult drug court graduates and inspiring others with a Graduation Tree unveiled in circuit court on September 12 in Bel Air.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Halloween is a fun time for kids to dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating with friends and family, but this can be a challenge for some children who use a wheelchair. To make these kids’ dreams come true, Harford County is planning an inclusive Halloween event again this October. To help Harford County residents clean up debris from Tuesday’s storm, tree material will be accepted at the following locations from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning today (Friday) through Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
• Edgewood Recreation Park/Cunion Field – 1702 Trimble Road, Edgewood
• Fallston Recreation Complex – 1707 Fallston Road, Fallston
• Tollgate Residential Yard Trim Acceptance Facility – 703 N. Tollgate Road, Bel Air
• Harford Mulch & Compost Facility – 3139 Scarboro Road, Street
• Rutledge Park – 3973 Norrisville Road, Jarrettsville
• Churchville Recreation Complex – 3023 Level Road, Churchville
• Chapel Road Park – 2029 Chapel Road, Havre de Grace
All locations are for Harford County residents only. Commercial customers must use the Harford Mulch & Compost Facility in Street.
The maximum size of storm debris that will be accepted is 12 inches in diameter and 6 feet long; residents will have to load the material into dumpsters at the drop-off locations.
There is no charge to drop off debris; however, proof of Harford County residency will be required.
“This was one of the worst summer storms to hit Harford County,” County Executive Barry Glassman said. “We wanted to help by giving residents places to drop off fallen branches and other yard debris close to home.”
Harford County also regularly accepts yard trim from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations:
• Harford Mulch & Compost Facility – 3139 Scarboro Road, Street; Monday through Saturday
• Tollgate Residential Yard Trim Acceptance Facility – 703 N. Tollgate Road, Bel Air; Thursday through Saturday

Applications are open through July 29 for Harford County’s new African American Heritage Grant Program. Individuals, nonprofits, businesses, and local governments can apply for the grants to fund projects that contribute to the research, preservation, and interpretation of local African American history. On Saturday, May 21, starting at 9am, in partnership with Denova Direct, will be handing out FREE natural gas detectors. Detectors can be picked up at our main station, 1403 Old Mountain Road South. First come, first serve while supplies last.
Help is available in County: Housing assistance, health services, haircuts, free lunch and more, all in one accessible location this Thursday, April 28, 2022.

It was a great day today at the Harford County Youth & Family Resource Festival held at the Harford Community College APGFCU Arena. Participants enjoyed connecting with over 120 exhibitors providing services for families and children. And the kids had fun meeting Buttons the miniature horse, characters, and visiting the Kids Zone to make a craft, have their face painted or talk with firemen during the the Touch-A-Truck experience.
We're ready! The 2022 Harford County Youth & Family Resource Festival is tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the APGFCU Arena at Harford Community College.
