The Friends of the Belen Public Library and Books on Becker had a great night participating in Belen's National Night Out.

Tonight is National Night Out! Books on Becker will be giving out free books to kids from birth through high school. Come be a part of the fun and take home a great book for later!!!

Before there was "Teacher Pay Teacher" there were blackline master books filled with thematic units, craft ideas, skill practice, math drills, readers theaters etc...We have two boxes filled with these excellent resources! Summer heat got you feeling DOWN? Step into our air conditioned Books on Becker today and get a new Summer read that will lift your spirits UP, UP, UP! Remember, kids and students get two free books each time they visit.

A generous donor delivered these "I Survived" books! This are loved by 4th - 6th graders that are historical fiction buffs. Remember students get two free books each visit.

Get them while we've got 'em! Vintage comic books $5.00 each.... Dr. Who $2.00 each...

Our very first customer of the summer break is this young man from Texas who is here visiting grandma. He was amazed with this children's beginner book on simple experiments with electricity and selected it as one of his two free books. The free tub of cotton candy was just icing on the cake!

Some gave all.

To celebrate the beginning of summer vacation, Books on Becker has a SWEET DEAL! Be one of the first 24 students to stop in tomorrow and receive a delicious tub of cotton candy when you select two free summer reading books.

Thank you to those of you who donate books to Books on Becker and to those of you who buy them! Through your generosity, the Friends of the Belen Public Library was able to use proceeds from our 501c3 bookstore and award two $1000.00 Deborah Graham Memorial Scholarships to these well deserving Belen High School students. Congratulations to Alexandra Almeida (Left) and Elizabeth Borjas on your accomplishments and we wish you success in college!

Books on Becker is a 501c3 project of Friends of the Belen Public Library. Tonight, we were able to provide a teacher at Belen Middle School with a Timekettle WT2 Edge/W3 Translator Device with 40 Languages which will help make learning available to all students in her classroom! Happy Teacher Appreciation Day!
