North Sound ACH
North Sound ACH exists to create a just and inclusive culture and the necessary conditions for all
We acknowledge, with humility, that the land of the North Sound ACH region today is the territory of the People of the Salish Sea. Their presence is imbued in the waterways, shorelines, valleys, and mountains of the traditional homelands of the Coast Salish People, since time immemorial.

#337 - Discover the Reef Net Captain Totem Pole and two Salmon Story Boards located at San Juan Island National Historical Park. The Lummi and Saanich Nations dedicated the beautiful pieces because the parade ground at English Camp is the spiritual site of their ancestors' village at Pe'pi'ow'elh. The story pole was carved by Temosen Charles Elliott, Tsartlip; the story boards were carved by Se Sealth Jewell James, Lummi. They tell the story of reef net fishing, a form of fishing unique to the islands. (Photo via Visit San Juans)

Children of the Setting Sun’s 6th annual Treaty Day Film Festival (TDFF) is coming up! 🥳 TDFF was created in remembrance of the 1855 Point Elliot Treaty. It is celebrated today to unify and educate the community on Indigenous perspectives and the issues we face today. 🤲🏽
We’re excited to announce that the feature film this year is ✨ FRYBREAD FACE AND ME ✨directed by Billy Luther! We’re so excited about all the films we’re showing this year and can’t wait to reveal more as we get closer to January 20th!
TDFF’s educational programming involves collaborations with Bellingham Public Schools. In the previous year, this partnership brought 600 7th grade students to the Pickford Film Center to view films aligned with the Since Time Immemorial mandate. The positive feedback prompted an expansion this year, extending the program to include 4th, 7th, and 11th graders across the district, reaching a total of over 2000 students!
The countdown is on, we’re 50 days away! Stay tuned for more details! 🙌🏽🤍

THE WIN: Working to advance racial justice in the courts and our communities.
✔ We fought systemic racism and mass incarceration by ending the practice of extending a person’s sentence if they have a juvenile record. And we will return to Olympia this year to make sure that it applies to those currently incarcerated – leaving no one behind.
✔ We successfully expanded the application of General Rule 37, a first-in-the-nation court rule that advances racial equity in the criminal legal system, and won a major case that protects jurors of color from exclusion.
✔ We are fighting alongside people impacted by police violence to eliminate racially biased traffic stops.
These successes wouldn't be possible without your support and action. Thank you for showing up, Washington.
