Hey everyone, as a result of the response I’ve gotten to my original “retirement” date in May, that date has now been moved to October 27, 2023. Many have scheduled to cash in their certificates and many have gone ahead and transferred their care to one of my colleagues. With all of that, it doesn’t seem logical stay until May. So if you are one of the few that want to cash in your certificates before I leave, get with me quick so I can get you scheduled. The fall is a busy time for me and I don’t want you to get left out!

Good afternoon everyone. I hope this Monday finds you all well.

I have some bittersweet news to share. May 31, 2024 will be my last day at Salon Pure Bliss and as a massage therapist. It has become clear to me that God is completely removing me from massage instead of keeping it as a second job. This wasn’t an easy decision to come to but I know it’s ultimately the right one. It has been a good season of life but God has other plans.

I know there are several gift certificates still floating around and I want to give enough time for those to be used. My weekly schedule is limited to 11am to 1pm but I will come in on a Saturday in order to fulfill a certificate if need be. I definitely don’t want them to go to waste. If we simply can’t work out any time that works for both parties, I will issue a refund upon receiving proof the certificate is unused.

For your future massage needs, I definitely have referrals for massage therapists in the area.

Hello everyone! I’m doing well after my surgery and just wanted to update a little.

I will be out of commission until July 17th. When I return, I will only be taking one 60 or 90 minute session or two 30 or 45 minute sessions per day as I build my strength back up.

Once school starts back up, I will no longer be able to work late afternoons. I will be starting a second job that I will have to be at by 2:30pm. If you have gift certificates and are unable to come during the day, we will work out something for a weekend in order to cash in your certificate.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes! The surgery was definitely sudden but it needed to happen quickly and I feel so much better now!

Good afternoon/evening everyone. I hope your May is going well so far. I sadly have some bad news.

Effective today May 15, 2023, I will no longer be taking new clients, and as a result, I will no longer be selling gift certificates unless the recipient is already an established client.

As I am still having issues with my shoulders, and now my hands, it has become apparent to me that my career in this field will not be as long as I had hoped. As a result I will be returning to school in the late summer or early fall to begin new studies. Therefore I will only be seeing current and established clients.

For those that have gift certificates that haven’t been used yet, they will still be honored. I do encourage you to cash them in soon before I start school as my schedule will be a bit less open as it is now.

I am working on gathering contact information for fellow therapists I can refer out to and I will keep a waitlist if a current client decides to drop their routine care.

Thank you all for your support over the years and going forward. This was a hard decision to make but I am at peace with with and feel it’s the right one.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let y’all know my first availability is next Tuesday, May 2!

Good evening everyone! I’m back and back to work! I wanted to give you all some notice on a few updates.

First, an update to my Cancellation Policy:
Starting May 1, I will be keeping a debit or credit card on file for each patient. If your cancellation occurs the day of your appointment, your card will be charged for 50% of your cancelled appointment. If you refuse to allow you card to be kept on file, then you will not be booked for a massage. If you have 5 late cancels in one month, I will remove you from booking completely. There will be no exceptions.

Due to my continued shoulder issues, my availability is more limited and my time is more valuable. I can see 25% - 50% less patients per day depending on the length of service. Any late cancellations severely cut into my income and my ability to pay my bills. I have been lenient for the last 4 years as a therapist and I now find myself in a position of being walked all over taken advantage of while my income suffers. This is not what I wanted to do and I had hoped the last update to my policy would curb this issue but it hasn’t. As a result this is what I *have* to do.

Second, in June, I will be raising the prices to my 60 and 90 minute session by $10. This is another thing I didn’t want to do but these two session lengths are the biggest strain to my shoulders so I’m not able to do as much after one. My 30 and 45 minute sessions will remain the same price.

Vacation is coming up soon and I’m almost at capacity for appointments. I have availability 1:30pm on Monday for any length, and 2:30pm on Tuesday for a 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute. That’s it.

As a reminder, vacation will be April 7-16th, my phone will off the 7th-13th and I will return messages on the 14th.

Happy March everyone! Here are a few notes regarding the month

1) As a reminder, my new cancellation policy goes into effect today. After 3 late cancellations (cancellations under 24 hours) you will be waitlisted for the day you want in and scheduled only if that day doesn’t fill up. After 10 late cancellations, I will remove you as a patient completely.

2) I will be closed March 16-17 for a choir concert.

3) I WILL be open during spring break. Book NOW because this will fill up fast.

Beginning March 1, 2023 I will begin implementing a cancellation policy. After 3 late cancellations (cancellations under 24 hours of your appointment time), I will put you on a waitlist for the day you next request but you will be not booked unless that day doesn’t fill up. You will be notified at the end of business the day before your requested day if you are off the waitlist. After 10 late cancellations, I will no longer book you, as you will have demonstrated that my time and effort isn’t respected.

I have had numerous late cancellations in the last 3 years, most from the same few people. Aside from no longer doing deep pressure due to the strain on my shoulders, I am also having to lighten my work load in order to preserve my hands. A late cancellation is now a guaranteed loss of income for me. Most massage therapists charge for at least half of the canceled session to make up for some of this loss. At this time, I will not. I understand that things come up but I have to do what I can to prevent repeatedly losing income, especially since I have opted not to raise my prices yet. Therefore, there will be no exceptions to this policy.

I will be out of town Thursday and Friday the 23rd and 24th. I currently have one opening left on Tuesday the 21st at 1pm, for an hour or less.

‼️Important Announcement‼️

After consulting with my doctor, effective immediately, I will no longer be offering deep tissue massage *via deep pressure.*

In the last year and a half I have sustained 3 shoulder injuries that are a direct result of my deep pressure technique. In order to continue in my career, this will have to end.

I will be looking for and have already started studying new modalities in order to offer deep tissue without deep pressure in the future, but for the time being, deep tissue work is suspended.

This does not affect as many of you as you may believe. Most of you are coming to me for neck and shoulder tension relief and there will be no change in that aspect. This change affects those that prefer a deep pressure on their thoracic and lumbar areas (aka, your back).

I will keep this page updated as I learn new modalities that get the job done just as well as deep pressure.

My first availability next week is Thursday at 11! Only Thursday and Friday availability at this time.

As of right now, the rest of this week is fully booked and I’m currently taking appointments for next week! I will post any last minute cancellations if they arise.

Here’s what 2023 will look like:
- I will NOT be raising prices, but I also will not be running sales unless inflation comes down some. I want to remain accessible but I also have bills 😬
- Everyone will be filling out a client intake form if they have not already. Everyone will also be receiving a copy of my policies and procedures so they are aware of how I operate (Department of Health stuff)
- Upon booking a first time appointment, I will send the address of the salon, helpful landmarks, and my cancellation/ no-show policy via text.
- As always, please call or text to make an appointment. If I don’t answer immediately, I will get back to you the first chance I am able to do so. 501-291-1593
- The following will be stated in my policies and procedures but as this is a pinned post, I feel they are worth posting here:
1) my working days and hours are Mon-Tues, Thurs-Fri, from 9am-5pm, meaning I am leaving at 5pm. Later appointments can be made occasionally but starting no later than 5:30pm.
2) I am not taking same-day appointments or walk-ins at this time. If you’d like in, you need to contact me and make an appointment before the day of. With that in mind…
3) I return calls and messages between 9am-6pm Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri, 9am-4:30pm on Wednesday and 9am-5pm on Saturday. Outside of these hours my work line is turned off, so if you call or message during off hours, I’ll get back to at the next available business time. *If you would like in on a Monday, you need to get with me before 5pm the Saturday before.*

On a serious and personal note, I’m doing my best to run this with a Christ-like attitude, as He is who called me into this. My intent is never to be rude, just firm in my boundaries to have a healthy work and personal life balance. I will always treat you with respect, but I will not tolerate disrespect. It’s sad I even have to say that but this “me first right now” mindset has people acting rude and foolish. Work with me, and I will work with you. If you want someone to drop everything to cater to you, you will need to go elsewhere.

Happy December! I hope everyone is getting as excited as I am about Christmas! Here are a few things about the end of the month:

•I will be taking my usual two weeks off for Christmas and New Years. It will follow the Bryant school district calendar so I will work the 19th and 20th, break, and return Thursday, Jan 5th.

•I will still return messages and book appointments for the new year during this time except the 24th and 25th.

•I will still meet at the salon for gift certificates purchases until the 23rd at 4pm. I will need a heads up if you want to meet to ensure that I don’t run any errands away from the Benton area.
