Epic Rides
The weather now through the weekend is building up for a super primo experience. It's looking like we'll have fast, dust-free dirt, a cool breeze, and warm sunshine to our backs.
Locals chime in?
Guided Rides are happening all day Sunday and they're FREE! Yep, no charge for anyone including friends and family. But you've gotta sign up before spots are gone.
Ride 1 – Ozark Bike Guides, 8a
Held on Slaughter Pen trails, this ride is a family-friendly, no-drop ride covering about 8 miles with around 800 feet of elevation gain. Max group size of 8 riders, plus their guide. Riders age 8+ are welcome to join when accompanied by an adult.
Ride 2 – Phat Tire Bike Shop, 8a
Held on Slaughter Pen trails, this ride is a beginner-friendly 10 – 12 mile jaunt.
Ride 3 – Ozark Bike Guides, 8:30a
Held on Slaughter Pen trails, this ride is a women’s only, no-drop Intermediate group ride. We will ride about 10 miles and do 1,000ft of climbing. This is great for those looking to progress to intermediate riding. Your professional guide can offer tips and tricks to safely overcome challenging trail features. Riders age 12+ who are confident on all green trails are welcome to join.
Ride 4 – OZ Cycling Tours, 9a
Held on Coler, Little Sugar, Back 40, Blowing Springs, & Slaughter Pen, this ride offers an Epic taste of NWA, Intermediate-moderate, 42 miles, Paved, Gravel, and Single track.
Ride 5 – Peel Compton Foundation, 9a
Held on Coler Mountain Bike Preserve trails, this is an intermediate level 15 mile ride that includes riding from downtown Bentonville to Coler, riding 10ish miles at Coler, and riding back. The max group size is 10.
Ride 6 – Ozark Off-Road Cyclists (OORC) , 9a
Held on Slaughter Pen phase 1 and Blowing Springs trails, this is an Intermediate ride led by OORC rides coordinator…the one and only – Kevin Cox! Roughly 2 hours in length.
Ride 7 – Women of Oz NWA, 9a
Held on Slaughter Pen trails, this will be 6-10 mile women’s only ride (blue plus rating). Actual distance and time will depend on the group’s preferences. Factors include how many breaks and how long they want to ride. The goal is 1-1.5 hours of ride time.
Ride 8 – Hunt Bike Wheels Beyond, 9a
Held on the Handcut Hollow, the newest addition to the OZ Trails network, this intermediate pace mtb ride is led by Hunt Wheels ambassador, Brian Firle. Get an opportunity to check out some un-released carbon mountain bike wheels and get there early for some rad HUNT swag! This a 2-3 hour ride.
Ride 9 – Women of Oz NWA, 10a
Held on Slaughter Pen Trails, this will be a 6-10 mile women’s only ride (green plus rating). Actual distance and time will depend on the group’s preferences. Factors include how many breaks and how long they want to ride. The goal is 1-1.5 hours of ride time.
Guided Rides All guided rides will meet at the Downtown Slaughter Pen trailhead... Please check back often as additional Guided Ride options are due to be added between now and the event weekend. NE B St. Bentonville
Ozark 15 Cut-Off Time (Friday)
Riders have roughly 3.5 hours to complete the course. Course support will be closed at 5:30p on Friday. If the director anticipates you may not make this time limit, you may be asked to reroute in the most direct manner to the finish.
Ozark 30, 50 & Pro 50 Cut-Off Times (Saturday)
In order to ensure riders return to the finish before course support (Medical, Traffic, Police, Comm, Volunteers) ends at 4:00p, the following cutoffs have been established:
Ozark 50 riders arriving after 11:00a at the Pinyon/Ledges Aid Station (14.8 miles in) will be asked to continue on the Ozark 30 route and will be considered a DNF.
Ozark 50 riders arriving after 1:45p at the Veterans Memorial Aid Station (38.8 miles in) will be asked to remain on the Razorback Greenway to Crystal Bridges to regain the course and will be considered a DNF.
Ozark 30 riders arriving after 1:45p at the Veterans Memorial Aid Station (23.6 miles in) will be asked to remain on the Razorback Greenway to Crystal Bridges to regain the course and will be considered a DNF.
Start Line Redemption Opportunity - Participants cut off by the race director will be considered a DNF (Did Not Finish), along with DNFs due to medical issues and mechanical failures. DNF riders may receive 50% Off of the following year’s OZ Trails Off-Road registration as a start line redemption opportunity.
All DNF riders are expected to report to the Epic Rides tent to notify an Epic Rides crew member that they are no longer on the course.

The all-new Ford Bronco™ and Bronco Sport will be available for demos and walk-arounds at OZ Trails Off-Road. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Ride and Drive experience, allowing them to test out firsthand many of the vehicle’s off-roading features on a purpose-built course with a professional driver. Demos will happen at the top of every hour on a first-come, first-served basis, while availability lasts!

Words don’t do justice to the amount of support a cheering fan can provide for a rider. Here's our list of locations worthy of hunkering down to cheer on your friends and loved ones this Oct. 16th. Don't worry, wearing food is optional : )
1. Blowing Springs Trail Head. Easy to get to off of Blowing Spring Road with plenty of parking.
2. Under the bluffs on the south end of Lake Ann. A bit of a hike but a super rad spot for photo and cheering on the riders.
3. Trail Course Split off of Commonwealth Road. Easy parking and a quick hike to the trail.
4. North end of the Ledges. An easily accessible spot great for grabbing some chairs and watching the riders roll in.
