Founded at Monmouth College in 1867, Pi Beta Phi was one of the first national college fraternities for women. The Berkeley chapter was established in the early 1900's, and has been home to many amazing women over the years. The mission of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for women is to promote friendship, develop women of intellect and integrity, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service.

“Even though the sisters who made my grant possible are ‘strangers’ to me, I’ll always be thankful for them. They were my angels during my time of need.” Kentucky Gamma Mary Cecilia Scialdone Murk was diagnosed with melanoma at 22. With the help of a grant from Pi Beta Phi Foundation’s Emma Harper Turner Fund, she met the financial challenges of her treatment plan. Today, she’s healthy and sharing her story with the world. Yesterday we had so much fun at our "Beta Watch" Bid Day! Shoutout to our 52 new pi phis (you truly made recruitment worth it- we love you already!), Top Dog for catering, and Zac Efron for his guest appearance.
