I would like to inform you all that the 2020 Pacific Coast Tournament is cancelled.

As you might know, the school owners met with K*k Sa Nim at WKSA Headquarters this past weekend for their Annual Training.

K*k Sa Nim called a special meeting of California instructors to discuss tournament in light of public health advisories concerning COVID-19. The school owners all agreed with K*k Sa Nim that it is in everyone's best interest to adhere to recommendations of avoiding large group gatherings (such as sporting events or concerts).

I understand that many of you have trained really hard in preparation for this annual tournament. I continue to admire your dedication and appreciate the hard work you do to represent our school. Consider this merely a postponement of your opportunity to showcase what you have practiced until next year. We need more practice!

Registration payments will be returned to you in class. Please remember to cancel any hotel reservations.

As to what is happening at the school, I have increased the disinfecting of the school from 2 times a week to daily. The kicking shields and mitts are hard to clean so we will not be using them until things die down. The other targets will be wiped down as they are used. The floors and seating areas will also be disinfected. Students will be asked to wash their hands or use sanitizer before techniques. I will ask that anyone feeling sick to stay away until they are better. The precautions you should take in general have been wide spread but if you would like more info please email me.

Personally, I feel that things have gotten a bit overblown but I understand that my perspective is not everyone's so I wanted to let you know I am doing to address the situation.

On other matters, there is Promotion Party this Friday at 6 pm. We will be giving out belts and certificates, there will be demonstrations and then a Potluck dinner. Anyone who wishes not to attend will be given their belt and certificate in class.

There will be a Parent's Night Out on Saturday, March 21 5:30 to 9. It is a bit longer than usual so we can more easily fit a movie in. And I can make the kids run more and tire them out! Pizza and juice are included. The fee is $20.

Summer Camps are scheduled for June 22-26, July 13-17 and Aug 3-7. I will have flyers available soon. I need at least 5 people to a camp so please let me know as soon as possible if you have an interest in your child attending. Camps run 9-3 and the tuition is $299. After care is available.
