Northbrae Community Church
We welcome people of any religious tradition, mystical path, or secular spirituality Sundays at 10:30. We'd love to see you!
We are a small, progressive church in north Berkeley, committed to an interfaith tradition that has been part of Northbrae's history since 1924. Our faith is informed and inspired by the respectful study of world religions, and we welcome and join people of all faiths in worship and service. We are a vibrant, non-denominational, welcoming congregation, rooted in progressive Christianity while comm
Northbrae Community Church is excited to host special guest, Betsy Rose to lead our service this Sunday, May 5th. Here is a brief description of Betsy's work:
Betsy Rose’s new music and writings are inspired by the spirit of Leonard Bernstein's statement after the assassination of JFK: " This will be our reply to violence- to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before."
Her songs, reflections and poetry speak to this time of disruption, loss, fear and confusion, in our own culture and around the world.
From celebratory to grieving to faithful and grounded, Betsy’s sings of the fear, grief, anger, despair, joy, love, trust, and passion that weave through our hearts as we face an unstable present and an unknown future together.

NEWS FROM THE NORTHBRAE COUNCIL, JUNE 2023
Our new Administrator, Juliana Bruno, is here and on the job. Feel free to come in and meet her during the week. Her hours are 8 to 2 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 9 to 3 on Tuesday and Thursday.
The chapel carpet is ordered and construction will begin in earnest on Monday July 10. Some work on the rock wall next to the pulpits may start next week. Also, we are hoping to have a demonstration sound system installed in the chapel later this week so next Sunday’s service may have a new sound system to consider.
Worship services in the Parlor will start on Sunday, July 16. A new high speed wifi system is being installed in the Parlor and Haver Hall so we can stream the services from there.
A Volunteer Pruning Club facilitated by Evelyn Borchert (who is an APA Certified Aesthetic Pruner) will be working to beautify the Northbrae grounds on Saturday, July 8 from 10:00am-3:00pm. Anyone in the church who would like to join them is more than welcome. Bring gardening gloves and tools and join the fun!
