Independence Day celebrated in downtown Polson Dozens of floats rolled through downtown Polson on July 4th to honor America’s independence.

Happy 4th of July!! What a fun parade in Polson with family and friends. We’ll be back in a few short weeks with cherries for the Cherry Festival.

Anyone know what’s missing from these great photos?? The beautiful white bloom unfortunately…. So sad to say but the very rapid temperature drop in January had a terrible impact on the buds. Luckily the trees are green and this year will be a year of nourishment for the trees but our cherries will be very very limited if any at all. My “hope” is to have enough to sell a few from our stand by the bag, support the Bigfork Farmers Market and the Polson Cherry Festival. I do not foresee any of our normal box sales to Missoula, Corvallis or Butte. Stay tuned for more but just keeping my loyal customers updated - we thank you for your support and look forward to returning to normal operations next season, Mother Nature permitting.

A beautiful spring day in the orchard today. In just about a month the entire orchard will be in full bloom. Fingers crossed these little buds really did survive the cold spell from January. See you in a few months with fresh cherries!!

Getting ready for our first Polson Cherry Festival! Come and see us tomorrow and Sunday! It will be our first trip with Old Red! Lots of fun to be had and lots of great vendors!

Freshly Picked Flathead Sweet Red Cherries.

We will be in Missoula on Friday 7/21, Corvallis on Sunday 7/23 and Butte on Tuesday 7/25. All cherries will be picked the day before and transported via refrigerated trailer to ensure freshness.

It’s been an interesting ripening season. Our Sweet Red’s which are the majority of our orchard are looking great and will be ready for picking at the end of this week. Unfortunately the late June/early July sun has quickly ripened our Rainier cherries so I’m not currently taking box orders. We will assess the day of picking and see if we have any quality fruit to bring.

Pricing - 20 lb box of Sweet Red’s for $45 to Missoula, $50 to Corvallis and $55 to Butte. In orchard pricing is the same as Missoula
pricing. We also will bring some two pound bags at $4/lb for Red’s and $5/lb for Rainier’s if available.

Locations - Missoula will be Friday 7/21 from 10-2 pm at 3742 S 7th St West. Corvallis will be Sunday 7/23 from 11-2 pm at 252 Black Lane and Butte will be Tuesday 7/25 from 11-2 pm at 48 Rodeo Drive. These are the same locations as last season and allow us to plug in our trailer to keep the cherries cool.

Reservations - Two options this year. Visit our website and checkout via credit card or PayPal for your convenience. https://www.thelastbestplaceorchard.com/shop. In addition, you can also continue to message me via messenger if you plan to pay via Cash or Venmo. I will build a list similar to previous years. I’m not able to check all Facebook comments given the time commitment in the orchard so please reach out via messenger.

Additional Product - we’ve expanded our offering this season so please check out our website for jams, syrups, honeys, candies and more! If you pre-order we can package a cute gift bag for you.

If you choose to pay at pickup, we will hold your box for the first two hours, but then becomes first come first serve given previous season no show rates on cash reservations unfortunately. I like to keep cherries fresh so would prefer to not return to the orchard with any picked boxes.

I will work to return all messages as quickly as possible but please bear with me as I’m working the orchard as well.

Hello Missoula! Our early variety sweet red cherries and some Rainier’s are ready and we will be bringing some limited quantities into Missoula tomorrow for the Orchard Homes Farmers Market from 4:30-7:00 - plan to sell in 2 lb bags. We will then be shifting into full gear for next week. Tentative day to come to Missoula for our normal 20 lb box sales is next Friday 7/21. Corvallis and Butte friends we also plan to come again this season. More information including reservations and pricing to come soon! And as always feel free to pickup in the orchard. Just message me if you want to have a fresh box picked or stop by starting this weekend for by the lb sales.

What a difference a couple of days and some sunshine can make. We are mid bloom and the trees are looking great. Still more to come so make a drive up the east shore this weekend to enjoy all of the beautiful orchards.
