We are pleased to introduce our owner of homeRN Huntsville, Rachel Johannes, RN. Rachel is a native Texan turned Alabamian after graduating from The University of Alabama’s Capstone College of Nursing. Rachel began working with homeRN Birmingham at it's launch in 2021. Rachel immediately fell in love with the patients, caregivers, and everything that goes with growing a new business. Rachel obtained her Master’s in Nursing Administration in 2022 and is proud to have played a role in the immense growth of homeRN Birmingham and expansion into franchising in 2023 as director of operations. After supporting the sale and launch of six homeRN franchises, Rachel is excited to bring homeRN to Huntsville while continuing to work as Director of Development for the homeRN brand.

Rachel wholeheartedly believes in the mission of homeRN and is excited about the endless possibilities of finding innovative ways to enhance homeRN’s services to deliver care with compassion and convenience. Rachel and her husband Grant, a Huntsville native, are excited to spend more time with friends and family in the Rocket City and bring great care to the community!

Meet Courtney Nix, CRNP and owner of homeRN Mobile Bay! Courtney was born and raised in Mobile Bay. After earning her RN degree from the University of Alabama, she returned to her hometown to work at Mobile Infirmary in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, where she quickly rose to the role of team leader. Her passion for learning led her to earn a Master’s degree, and for the past decade, she has had the unique opportunity to work alongside her father, an MD, at his family practice in Saraland, AL. 🩺

Courtney is married to her high school sweetheart, Morgan Nix, and together they have three boys, Mac (8), Lyles (5), and Lewis (5), as well as a lovable pug named Ozzy. As a family, they cherish the outdoors, enjoying activities like hunting, fishing, and boating. Courtney is also passionate about exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and she loves to educate and empower others to do the same. 🎣

As her children grow, Courtney is excited to embark on a career that allows her to balance her dedication to caring for others with the needs of her own family. Through homeRN, she aims to enhance the lives of those in her community by providing compassionate, dependable, and accessible care right in the comfort of your home. Margaret was born and raised in Alabama. She and Eliza (homeRN Founder) met as they were in the same pledge class and lived together as best friends for the next 3 years of college at the University of Alabama. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and began a career in critical care cardiology at UAB. In 2013, she became an acute care nurse practitioner (graduating with a master’s degree from UAB) and began working for Dr. Clifton Lewis, cardiovascular surgeon. She remains with Dr. Lewis and the CV surgeons at UAB today.

Margaret has watched and cheered on homeRN from the beginning and is proud to be a part of the team. Her years of hospital and surgical experience will complement her ability to care for our patients.

Margaret is married to Tommy. They have two girls (Louise and Annie) and live in Crestline. Margaret enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family and friends. She is also a big animal lover. She is excited about caring for patients in the comfort of their homes.
