Closing Announcement: The Memphis Housing Authority (MHA) and its development partner, Knight Development, recently finalized financing for MH Strategies. The nearly $53 Million redevelopment effort will include the extensive renovation of Barry Towers and Jefferson Square with modern amenities and upgrades for all 405 units. Quality-of-life improvement plans also include a Matter Health clinic at each tower to offer residents preventive health services, including wellness exams, chronic care management, lab services, preventative screenings, prescription management, specialty care referrals, and more. Congratulations to Dexter Washington, the Memphis Housing Authority, all its partners, and residents!

This Charleston, SC development presented a few obstacles, but with the expertise of our team and the development team, it is now exceptional and desirable housing! Additionally, the development was successful in leaving the wetlands undisturbed, which was a major concern.

This year's SMAC conference was a huge success! We had a great team of staff in attendance. The panelists, both HUD staff and others, were extremely impressive. The sessions provided tons of insight and informative trainings regarding the multifamily housing industry and the current MAP programs. Thank you to the SMAC board for planning this event, especially Highland's own Jennifer Massey, and all of the sponsors and attendees for making this conference happen!

The construction of this property brought access to housing for lower income elderly tenants and elderly tenants with disabilities. This facility enabled its tenants to comfortably live independently in an updated and revitalized complex.
