Listen to the end. 😁 Congratulations to all the brave young people who auditioned to sing with CDCC for our upcoming season! Thanks for deciding to “get out of the shower” and try singing with a choir. You are on your way to experiencing all the benefits she describes! 🎵
Love this all on its own, but having just said farewell to Mr. Mike Seil, who made the difficult decision to step away from directing our high school choirs after 26 of dedication and service, this is especially fitting. Thanks for everything, Mike!! 🎵

He says, “Singing in the Central Dakota Children's Choir has profoundly impacted my life in ways I could have never imagined. This choir has not only nurtured my love for music but also helped me build a deep sense of discipline and teamwork. Through countless rehearsals and performances, I've developed strong bonds with fellow choir members, learning the value of collaboration and harmony, both musically and socially. The choir has also given me the confidence to express myself through song, boosting my self-esteem and stage presence. Beyond the music, it's been a source of lasting friendships and unforgettable memories, making my journey with the Central Dakota Children's Choir an irreplaceable part of my life. I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Seil, my High School Choir teacher and Jazz Choir Director. His passion for music and dedication to our growth as musicians have been truly inspiring. Under his guidance, I not only developed my singing abilities but also learned important life lessons about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. Mr. Seil's mentorship and leadership have left a lasting impact on me. I am sincerely appreciative of his constant support and inspiration during the years.”

I still look forward to the Christmas concert, and singing along to the goofy Christmas songs I used to sing as well when I was in Jubilate and Bel Canto. Singing and music have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I would go to my sisters' CDCC concerts, and in second grade I was able to join CDCC myself. Becoming involved in CDCC has been one of the best decisions I've made. I look forward to every rehearsal and being able to sing with people who appreciate and love music as much as I do.”
We love giving young people in our community the opportunity to be part of a choral program where they can meet other singers from the area who love to sing as much as they do! You can join Demerie and all 300+ singers of CDCC tonight at the Belle Mehus Auditorium! Tickets are available at the door, concert starts at 7pm, doors open at approximately 6:15pm. She says, “We went to Fargo and were at the local mall and some of the boys got ghost pepper gummies from a candy store. I just remember walking by their room later that evening as we were going to swim at the hotel. The boys (you know who you are) were taking turns putting their heads under the sink because the gummies were spicy. Some of them were crying but it sure made us girls giggle. My best friends are in CDCC. As a senior, I'm realizing how much of my life was positively impacted by choir and those I sing with. Singing became an ongoing passion of mine. Being able to have consistency in having regular rehearsals has benefitted me. It is great to have an outlet that is relaxing and fun, but also to be challenged with repertoire and have a variety of pieces to learn. Different from any other choir, CDCC has given hundreds of children a place to connect with those from an entire community and come together as one. Music has shaped who I have become in the past seventeen years of my life in more ways than I can count and will continue to shape the person I become in college, as I explore music as a life-long profession. I have had the greatest blessing to witness music change others’ lives emotionally, spiritually, and physically. ... I have seen music change lives, and through these experiences, it has become my passion to help heal the world with music.”
