An estimated 58.5 million adults in the U.S. are affected by some form of arthritis, which breaks down to about 23.7% of the population. As the number of older Americans continues to grow, and the rates of obesity and overweight increase, the number of people with arthritis-attributable activity limitations will only increase.

(OA) is the most common type of arthritis, especially amongst older people. For the unfamiliar, OA mostly affects cartilage. The surface layer of cartilage breaks down and wears away. This allows bones under the cartilage to rub together, causing pain, swelling, and loss of motion of the joint. Over time, these changes can affect the bones, tendons, and other joint tissues.

While there is no cure for arthritis, joint pain and other OA symptoms can be managed through treatment, lifestyle changes, and education. If you are wondering how, when, or where to get started, make an appointment with your healthcare provider to get you moving on a path to less joint pain. We're here to help every step of the way!

“The second postpartum period was better than the first. I wish I would’ve had a postpartum doula with the first especially knowing nothing of what it would be like going home with a newborn. All the sleepless nights, body trying to heal, learning to breastfeed, trying to keep the house livable and dealing with all the emotions.

But having someone to help with household duties, cooking food, having meals frozen for postpartum, someone to help take care of the baby so I could sleep.

100% recommend having a postpartum doula. Do it for yourself and give yourself that time to heal and bond with your new little one!”

Your time is valuable.
❗There are various reasons why it is beneficial for you to have direct access to physical therapists:❗
➡ More control: If you have an injury, are experiencing pain, or have a musculoskeletal complaint, you should be able to decide how and where to seek care. There are certain conditions in which physical therapy would be helpful. Direct access gives you more control to make your own treatment choices. We are recognized as a licensed professional of choice to manage musculoskeletal and movement disorders in patients.
➡ Less costly: Being able to go directly to physical therapy is cost-effective. You avoid having to pay for a visit to a doctor for a referral, and the doctor may order costly diagnostic tests before determining that physical therapy is the right treatment method.
➡ Less time-consuming: You can schedule a visit to a PT right away instead of waiting for an appointment with the doctor and then scheduling a PT appointment. It can easily become a part of your routine for injury prevention, fitness, and overall health.
➡ Quicker results: A physician may want to try other treatments, such as medication, before referring to a physical therapist. Direct access allows you to get the care you need immediately, which means more rapid results.
➡ Coordinated care: Even if a patient sees a medical doctor for a particular condition, the patient might understand that getting PT along with medical treatments will help with recovery. When you contact us, we can work directly with your provider(s) to provide the most effective treatment for YOU.
