My absolute favorite Bible verse as a little girl was Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8
I remember flipping through my mom‘s Bible every single week and reading that verse while sitting in church. The Lord would speak to me as a little girl about seasons, and how there are seasons for everything in life.

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace. I have seen the burden God has placed on us all.
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.
He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.

I’ve been reflecting and resting a lot over the last year.
I sure do miss my big store. (I am re-posting again because a lot of you said you could not find my post from yesterday, so here it is again.) ⬇️
The Lord was so gracious and good to Don & myself 🎄 God blessed me with a creative side that I didn’t know I had in me until I persevered and opened up 2 stores within a couple of years.
I know that Don feels the same way because he worked so hard juggling multiple businesses and our family.
I watched God move him in ways that are absolutely amazing too!
I seriously look back in AWE of what God did over the last couple of years.
How in the world did we do it? God showed me so much more of myself, and what we can do when we are called by Him to accomplish something that’s so far out of our comfort zone, reach from a human perspective, and it can only be done through His calling.
It was completely God, & not manufactured, and nothing less.
It blows my mind to look back on how Don and I opened up an online store, and then a brick and mortar store and then a little over a year later a 2nd much larger store.
I truly stand back in all of all that God has done. It was His idea and His plans all along and never ours.
You see, I loved what I did, and absolutely loved the business side, the creative side, 🤍🤍 my customers, and everything that encompassed that entire store, but the weight of so many other things pulling at me and the pressures of everything around me - it was just too much.
The Lord heard my cry & my prayers.
My family needed me.
My kids needed me.
My husband’s mother died that year, and my own father died that year.
It was a lot!
There are lots of other reasons, but I won’t go into them……..
We were blessed going in and opening the store, and blessed on the way out for being obedient when he told us that the season was done.
I could tell you so many stories with miracles laced all in them that happened.
It was the hardest thing to close down such a giant AMAZING store, but obedience to the Lord, and when He says lay it down, the time is now - is much more important than what the world likes to tell us.
All I can tell you is that the choice was ours, and we listened to the Lord and we were obedient.
I’ve learned over the years to trust, obey, and step out on faith, even when things don’t make sense.
I just have to step out on faith and say OK God I’ve seen you part the Red Sea before in my life over and over and I will trust and obey once again
I just know that we were obedient when the Lord said to open up the store, and we were obedient at the exact time when He told us to close down the store.
Is it easy to follow God and be obedient?
Absolutely not!
I mess up and stumbled in so many ways, but it’s so worth it to come out on the other side and look back and see God’s fingerprints of blessings and answered prayers everywhere.
The Lord is stirring things in my heart once again, but I just can’t quite put my finger on it. I am waiting on Him to speak to me with anticipation of what will be next……
I still have my online store shophousemarket.com and I have paused it for the month of December to focus on my family.
I really do enjoy having the online store because it gives me the freedom right now to be with my family. I am beyond thankful for each one of you for supporting my online store.
I will be relaunching the online store in the new year.
I’ll keep you all posted.
