Tomorrow, at approximately 2:25 pm EST, we are blessed with the year's first Super Moon and a seasonal Blue Moon.

Supermoons occur when the moon's orbit pulls it close to the earth making it look larger and brighter than typical full moons. A blue moon happens when there are 2 full moons in the same month. Needless to say, the rarity of this combination will make for a very interesting lunar event.

In addition to that paired phenomena this particular full moon has planetary aspects connected to it that are spicey and dicey. To name a few, Uranus is involved perfectly squaring the sun and moon so expect the unexpected. This lunar event happens during Mercury's retrograde. Shortly after, Mercury and the Sun conjoin to form a cazimi where Mercury gets super charged up. Venus and Saturn are opposing one another making tension between love, relationships, responsibility and authority, a very sobering time for relationships. Venus also squares Jupiter trying to solve conflicts and soften peaks and hard edges of squares.

Highlighted with this lunation is escalation of tension with others, a propensity for accidents, complications with travel, news worthy world wide events. And of course did I mention this full moon activates under the fixed air sign of Aquarius whose interests are humanitarian and social. The moon under an Aquarian moon says to gather a team and get working together! It is social, political, tolerant, prudent and experimental but not particularly intimate.

An Aquarian moon can be farsighted about the big picture but can be dense about the needs of those closest to us. Under an Aquarian moon be conscious and aware of disconnection, righteousness, contrariness, farsightedness and being experimental.

This is a really good time to get back on your yoga mat in a class of other yogis, breath work is essential, meditation may be difficult but necessary, have a dinner party, share ideas.

The Tale of Mars the Bold and Saturn the Silent

‘Once upon a time, in a kingdom governed by the stars, lived a restless warrior named Mars. Roaming the land of Gemini with twin swords of intellect and wit, Mars constantly sought new challenges. One night, the stars foretold a journey to the Misty Vale, ruled by the enigmatic Saturn, the Silent Sage of Pisces, a land of elusive mists and shadows, was said to hold ancient wisdom.

Determined, Mars set off, believing his quick wit would unravel Saturn's mysteries. As he entered the Vale, the fog thickened, every step like wading through invisible currents. He soon encountered Saturn at a shadowy lake. Saturn, moving deliberately, asked, "Why do you disturb the Misty Vale, young warrior?" Mars boldly replied,” I am seeking wisdom.”

Saturn warned, "Wisdom requires patience and humility." Mars laughed, dismissing the need for patience. Undeterred, he plunged deeper into the Vale, but the mist blinded him, and resistance grew. Days turned into weeks, his confidence eroding. Exhausted, Mars admitted his folly to Saturn, who then guided him through the Vale with care.

Mars learned to navigate with mindfulness, listening to the whispers of the mist. In time, he emerged wiser, returning to Gemini with a newfound respect for patience and balance. The tale of Mars and Saturn became a legend, a reminder of the price of hubris and the value of humility.’

Tomorrow, July 21, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the Sun and the Moon will oppose each other forming a bright and beautiful full moon.... for the second time this year. This is that "once in a blue moon" idiom that indicates that this occurrence does not happen frequently.

This full moon has important astral signatures. It is happening at the anaretic degree of 29 degrees of Capricorn, it is conjunct Pluto, has a trine to Mars and a sextile to Neptune. Basically, although a full moon, which generally indicates a culmination and release, this once in a blue moon event will be acting like a new moon which usually indicates new beginnings!

This full moon, especially since in Capricorn, wants you to go "all in", be 100 percent committed, to create a breakthrough, which will ultimately change your life through miracles! It wants you to break away from tradition driven Capricorn and plunge 100 percent into airy Aquarius carrying along with it the quest for technology and change. To add spice to this mixture, Pluto will powerfully bring up and out all that is and has been stewing below the surface and propel it visibly upward and outward.

This powerful full moon has lovely supportive aspects from Mars and Neptune, however, the activations will instigate important transformation and societal upheaval.

Full Moon in Capricorn (also called a Strawberry Moon) happening tomorrow, June 21st at 9:07 pm. Well, we already know that a full moon is a release. When there is a full moon in Capricorn there is a Cancer/Capricorn dynamic. A full moon is when the Sun and Moon are opposite each other. Cancer is home, Capricorn is work. There is a need of an integration of the two worlds of home and work. There is an important need to understand that the key lies in adjusting and understanding where the other side is coming from.

The work is in the integration in two worlds that seem to be like they can't agree. This is the perfect time, during the summer solstice, where we can release and ground (Capricorn.) Let it go and get your footing. Stand tall, compromise what is necessary to agree, and then go forward.

Neptune.... the brother of Jupiter and Pluto, mainly presiding over the seas, waterways and freshwater springs, depicted as a seahorse drawn chariot whom sailors and fishermen prayed to for safe voyages and the greatest of catches.

But, astrologically, the archetypical Neptune corresponds to imagination and vision, sympathy and compassion, escapism or confusion, illusions and even deception. He relates to false images of security and satisfaction. He's the stoner standing outside at the party staring at the stars in the night sky.

Presently Neptune is at 29 degrees of Pisces, his comfort zone though at the 29th degree he is a bit anxious and getting noticed as much as he wants to hide. In March of 2025, Neptune will change signs. He is going from Pisces, his comfort zone, to firey Aries, facing the fire that is ever-present in Mars ruled Aries.

When a planet changes signs it is a big deal. They are changing their personalities, shifting and adjusting to their new host. This is a sure feeling of dreams and passion. Aries will give Neptune encouragement to go after your dreams and bring out all those creative inspirations when Neptune in Pisces just sort of drifted off, created, dreamed and imagined. The spiritual qualities of Neptune will be asserted through Aries. It is essential to move forward with grounding and purpose so that you are not swept off in a sea of confusion.

Neptune will move through the home of Aries until March 23, 2039. Wherever your Aries house is in your birth chart is where this planetary meeting will be activated. There is a lot to be said for the changes you will encounter for an extended period of time during Neptune's visit with Mars ruled Aries.

Who is Hygeia? More importantly, what does Hygeia and her position in your birth chart mean? What is she trying to tell us? Hygeia, according to Greek Mythology, was the daughter of Asclepius, the god of medicine. She was schooled by Asclepius in preventative medicine and how to care for the physical and mental in order to avoid illness. This is not how to cure an illness once it onsets but rather preventative care. She was known for the upkeep and practice of daily personal hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness in order to prevent illness.

Along those lines, this practice leads to the understanding of the vital force in the body. The understanding and teachings of this practice are that if you give the body basic, pure life force, that will aid in the ability of the body to cure itself of illness.

The position of Hygeia in your birth chart can indicate how to be healthy by adopting preventative measures that are indicated in the placement of Hygeia in your birth chart. For example, if Hygeia is located in your Ta**us house, aromatherapy and massage and sound healing will aid in your health and well being. If Hygeia is in your Cancer house your well being will have everything to do with being home cooking and spending time with family and friends. The Queen if the night sky is waning. As She starts her journey towards a new moon She looks thinner, and grows darker each night for 2 weeks coming from Her full moon phase.

The phases of the Moon describes the quality of energy, whether momentum building or receding, created by the relationship, or aspect, between the Sun and the Moon. Her cycles are fine-tuned to help us understand the energetic weather of the moment.

We have just experienced the energies of a full moon in the sign of Scorpio where energies were intense and we were releasing something that really needed to go. Now, under a waning gibbous moon, we integrate, put the pieces together, share what we know and bring the work to completion.

On May 8th we will be blessed with a new moon in the Venus ruled sign of Ta**us. This energy will be so very lovely.....

About that trickster, Mercury...

Mercury, the planet of communications, has been retrograde since April 1st, 2024. He will station direct and begin moving out of his retrograde phase on April 25th. Mercury is a very active planet. Never traveling too far away from the Sun, his energy and wit is that of a 3 year old. He is always very busy.

When in retrograde, it's as if he is in time out! He has to sit in the corner and think about things. Being retrograde is a time of contemplation, reflection, re-evaluation, revision, think of the "re" words. So if he's sitting in the corner thinking about things, he isn't busy running around communicating, traveling and learning. That is why when in retrograde (about 3 times a year) there are glitches in communications and technology. As Mercury has been taking a time out, I have been really contemplating what else it might mean for this little "jester" to be in a sort of lock down and I thought perhaps it's about Truth. Truth is the song of the wind. Truth is an air element and when we speak air passes through our mouths and appears as communications. As you communicate your truth to yourself and others, you find new energy and vitality emerging within your life.

Be honest with yourself and speak from your heart. During Mercury's retrograde, this is the time to find your truth. Listen for what is sincere and honest in others. Sometimes, as when Mercury sits in contemplation, "it takes sincere silence to find your inner voice of truth. When you find it, let go of anything in your life that isn't authentic. Release relationships where you can't be yourself and can't be real. Being genuine can allow your spirit to fly and the song of your soul to be heard in the Universe." To me, this is Mercury retrograde's greatest gift...

Days later we have a battle between Mars and Saturn. While we're working hard to figure out what the heck is happening to certain areas in our lives, suddenly, without warning, Jupiter meets up with Uranus and promises unexpected changes in a huge way!

There are the usual planetary shifts like Venus changing signs from Pisces where her beauty and grace is exalted into Aries where she gets a bit fiery, up-front and direct in matters of love, money, relationship, to name a few. The Sun King moves into the sign of Ta**us on April 19th and all this happening as the Queen of the night sky, Madam Moon, glides around sign hopping beginning in Capricorn on April 1st and by the end of April She is sitting in the home of Aquarius by April 30th.

Good morning beautiful souls! We have a full moon in the sign of Virgo happening tomorrow morning at 7:31 a.m. EST. I don't usually post every planetary aspect going on in the sky because there is always something going on in the sky and usually, unless it hits a specific planet in your birth chart, you probably won't even notice it. Also, there is a million astrologers out there repeating full moons, new moons, and all the other planetary shenanigans and it gets to be a boring recital! I like to be the odd ball out and talk about different star movement. I am, after all, a Raven!

But, I just wanted to touch upon this particular full moon because it is a bit... how should I say...well I want to say unique but unique has a connotation of being good and special and what I really want to say is "weird." This full moon is ruled by the planet Mercury and Mercury is now in the sign of Pisces where he is just not happy. Then, Mercury is going to be what's called "combust" at the time of the full moon which means the Sun is burning him up rendering him powerless for a bit until he goes cazimi, at which time he (we're talking about Mercury here) will be re-energized! Shortly after the full moon, the Sun, Mercury and Saturn (who will also be combust and cazimi the Sun) are going to be all together have a very strange tea party!

Listen my friends, I can spew out all the astro talk which will leave you just scratching your head so here are my Ravenous words of wisdom about this full moon: Don't be so picky, do NOT give unwanted advice, do NOT be over critical and that includes with yourself too and be careful what you eat because you don't want to get stomach issues! This will be a good time to get outside, go walking bare foot, do some gardening (wear your groovy hat and sunscreen), read, brainstorm and make those grand ideas happen as the moon wanes and moves towards her new moon phase in a couple of weeks.

What about the Raven?

Ravens are fascinating, intelligent, luminescent birds that have intense mystical energies. They can pass from one spiritual realm to another bringing with them karmic messages, warnings, stories, dangers and insights. They never forget a face and can recognize those who want to connect and receive the messages in the most soulful of ways.

Ravens, and their cousins the Crow, have few enemies and have almost human-like behavior. They are said to adopt the eggs of other birds and are fearless. The appearance of the Raven represents transformation to a more confident, powerful, spiritually based person. They are thought to be the messenger of the gods. They are said to be the smartest of all birds using tools from their environment and intricate skills to solve complicated problems.

These extraordinary creatures' key attributes are the keepers of secrets, introspection, imagination, courage, dignity, self-knowledge, healing, shape-shifting, a messenger from the spirit world, magic, confronting fears and achieving one's goals with intelligence and planning.

I have chosen the Raven, my Spirit Animal, to represent my love of, and passion for astrology and sound. To me, there is immense spiritual activations and healing in pairing the two. The Raven is my guide and confidant often delivering beautiful revelations and insights.

I asked the Moon what was happening in the sky. "Well, she said, I'm pregnant with hope, as you can see, birthing this fullness of light on Tuesday the 26th." She told me that she will be at home, all cozy and nurturing in her sign of Cancer. It's time for family and home nourishment, nostalgia and love. She told me she is going to make a lovely trine to Saturn and a sextile to Jupiter and we might find ourselves celebrating our elders and preserving moments and the sentiments to love each other. There is also a conjunction with Mercury and Mars in the sign of watery Scorpio giving us careful and measured communications that can have moments of fighting words and premeditated actions that lack censorship. Venus will trine Neptune giving us tolerance and willingness towards understanding and magical, unconditional love.

What a wonderful time to share a full moon in the sign of Cancer. This is the last lunation of the year and as I soar around the sky and through the clouds picking up all the energies of the planets I send you love and joy and blessings of happiness in the new year ahead.
