Are you truly living your healthiest + best life? Or are you simply surviving the days…energy going to everyone else’s needs but your own?
The first pic was from the beginning of the year. Last year I helped care for my dad a lot while also caring for my own family, and not really caring for me in it all so well.🫠 How could I?! I was completely depleted.
I was definitely in surviving mode, living on energy drinks, eating whatever I could,when I finally remembered to eat, trying to workout & move forward with my wellness biz, but honestly stressing myself more with the pressure😵💫, + how can I promote a healthier lifestyle when I was so unhealthy in my habits! 🫣
I was shocked when I took another pic a few weeks later after making myself a real priority & changing up some daily routines (second pic)! I looked at myself with such compassion….I felt like s**t, but truly didnt know just how unhappy my habits were until I saw how inflamed & unwell I looked just in my face alone!😳
(Hence why face pics are now a must moving forward for anyone that I work with😉)
It was such a moment for me to see myself.
It was healing for me to see myself. I felt bad for her🥺. I had to love her back to wellness.🤍
I’m still on my own journey, that will be a forever thing, as we are constantly changing, growing, evolving with age, life & the environment. But that is also something we must learn to accept & something that I celbrate🥳 Because it feels good to do the things that make you feel good!😁

🪷YOU are a lifetime investment… and when you invest well in yourself the return is beyond what you can imagine now.
🪷There is no quick fix to our wellness…no short term answer that is best for our wellbeing ✨mind-body-soul.
🪷The day to day will be different. THAT’S OK! Honor your needs.
Flipping that script in my head is what changed it all for me-more so than all the working out + nutrient dense foods—>although those definitely add to that mental shift.🫶🏼
Through it all it has brought me back to my passion for wanting others to feel their best too!! And how I love to be a part of that journey back home✌🏼
As messages, love and support continue to roll in. I just want to Say thank you for all the kind words and all the loving energy sent our way…It is definitely felt!🥹❤️
There have been a few words that have moved me to tears about the way I showed up and my connection with Dad. I set a very clear intention a year ago when we got this diagnosis that I did not want my remaining time with him to end with any regrets. I can honestly say I have none about getting to know him better & our time hanging together. Our final moments together were beautiful & full of love…neither of us could have asked for a sweeter goodbye. 🥹
None of it ever felt like a burden…now that’s not to say that I showed up perfectly every step of the way or that it wasn’t hard for me to try to balance life between being there for my parents and being there for my family. I’m sure there are moments that I failed miserably and I know there are many moments that I lost it, but I don’t feel that any of it was anything amazing. Its all I know…to give live & be love.
So I ask you. If you knew you only had X amount of time with the ones you love & care about…. How would you show up? What do you want to remember? How do you want them to feel? What do you want to feel?
You don’t have to wait to get a notice delivered to you in life saying it’s time to let people know what they are to you in this physical experience.
You get to show ip that way everyday (or most days as we are human😂) Thats what its all about. Love, connections, feelings, lessons, growth, joy, happiness, fun!
So dont miss an opportunity to look for love today…to give love & also to receive love🫶🏼

You asked for weekly meal ideas + plans…..I got you!😉
All dishes can be made vegetarian/vegan by substituting your fave meat substitutes or other ingredients. The burger can be made with a portobello mushroom & the skewers could be tofu, or strictly veggies!
As you can see, I have majorly simplified my planning as you can see. (More tips & tricks on all that coming too) Breakfast and lunches tend to be the same few things, and I’ve come to learn making extra for dinners means leftovers for lunch & less meals you actually need to plan.
Also when planning for your week ahead it’s helpful to plan in the meals that you will be eating out, if you already know. I have noticed I end up wasting so much of what I buy because we end up going out to eat more than I realized for that week.

🌞🫧🧽Saturday morning summer cleaning!
I can’t even tell you how much food I let go bad & just threw out. I swear I always start with the best intentions😆
A big thing for me + my involvement in nutrition is the amount we just throw away as a country when we have so many neighbors who need food. (So many ideas to start up organizations for just this!, but i am learning one step at a time, not the whole staircase😜) I would also like to see more nutrient dense options as our ingredients, better ingredients used in our foods in general, as well as, these foods being affordable & available to all. We have the highest disease rates for so many chronic issues that could be avoided by caring for our bodies better.
So realizing the hand I play in it all really got under my skin this morning😆
Since I’m starting with a so fresh & so clean fridge, & week, I better make some changes to become more mindfull of what we’re really consuming over here!
In case you too need to reign it in, here are some things you can do to help bring more awareness to what you’re buying vs actually consuming.
🍍Start with becoming aware! Are you throwing away the same purchases every time?
🍎Make a plan. Take the time to really think about what meals
you’ll be making that week, when you’re going out, & recipes-to keep to your list.
🥦Journal. Take a quick note or at least a pause in your day to notice how you feel after meals or the amount you’re actually consuming.
These are only a few things to start to bring more mindfullness into your nutritional world. Which as you can see will have many positive effects in other areas of your life & for others in their lives.

The anatomy nerd in me saw this mango & immediately thought it looked like our heart.🫀
These homes of ours,our bodies, are made up of everything around us + what we put in them. So it matters what you choose to fuel your body with. It can literally heal you or hurt you. You may not see or feel the effects now, but down the road many of these choices show up as dis-ease in our body.
(I love the link of being in dis ease & how that eventually shows up as disease)
When we are not mindfull of what we put in our bodies we take in the pesticides, chemicals & even diseases if we choose to eat animal products.
Maybe up until now nutrition didn’t seem like something that could make a difference in how you feel overall. Maybe buying organic seemed like something that wasn’t necessary to you or a waste of money. If you choose to eat animal protein, do you support businesses that are committed to more humane ways of raising, feeding, & ending their lives? Or in this busy society we’re living on grab & go overly processed foods.
There is no “right” or “wrong” answer, as I believe our nutritional choices are very personal, but I invite you to pause for a moment & think about some of the choices you’re making.
Do they align with your values? Do they leave you feeling better or worse in your days? Do they align with the vision you have for how you want your days to feel & your life to look?
It always starts within. We must ask these questions & be brutally honest with ourselves with the answers if we want to invoke change in our lifestyles. No judgement for what you did before & where you’re at now. Just a witnessing of what bubbles up.
When we know better we are always able to do better.🌈

Hello!!! 👋🏼 Most of you already know me, but for those of you who don’t I wanted to take a quick minute to introduce myself & how/why I ended up here starting this space + community😊.
Let’s get the formal stuff & credentials out of the way for those of you who like to know. I’m Melissa, a 41 yr old mama of 2 crazy + awesome souls, married to my bff & a dog mama🐶🐶. I worked as an xray tech for 10+ yrs(am still licensed), I am a 200 RYT & a NASM certified nutrition coach. I was in nursing school just prior to the pandemic, but had to end my career in healthcare due to chronic infections.😞
I believe everything happens for a reason (even though I spent many years not understanding that reason & struggling to find my footing on this new path). I see now how it all has prepared me for this moment & new endeavor.🤗
Facing my own struggles in finding & creating balance in the chaos around me sparked a desire to share these lifestyle tools so others could create balance in their days too! Being a part of that journey with you & watching the evolution is just icing on the cake🎂🤩
I grew frustrated with this “one size fits all” to wellness approach. My experience has shown me we’re anything but that! Everybody + every body is so different, so, creating a balance & a wellness lifestyle that is effective + sustainable must be unique to you!
I am a mixture of natural methods to wellness & science/medicine. There is so much we can do in our day to day to care for our homes(bodies) ….even heal it!, but I believe there is also a time & space for medicine & I don’t discredit science & the research that is done. Optimum wellness is a marrying of both.
I believe the more we know, the better we can do + be. You have to be responsible for educating yourself, but I’m here to help make that easier to digest, less overwhelming, & most of all an enjoyable experience!🫶🏼
