As a Family Nurse Practitioner
I hope to be able to bring a compassionate delivery of care
As of November, I have accepted a position working alongside Lebauer Stoney Creeks incredible providers. I am happily accepting new patients, and I hope to be able to help you on your healthcare journey!
As a side note, I made the move from South Florida to NC with my family in July of 2022 to live closer to my family. It has been a much anticipated exciting move, and I am here to stay. My goal as a primary care provider is to walk alongside you throughout your various stages of life, and care for you the best I can over the years to come 😊

Why it’s so important to make the necessary lifestyle changes for your health especially with the way our world eats (CRC=colorectal cancer)

Never lose your faith in humanity, because people will always continue to remind you that there is good in the world. Continue to do good to others, and they will always find a way to remind you that you are loved and appreciated.
Gosh…Boca/South Florida family I am going to truly miss you! 💝
To feel appreciated is so humbling and beautiful, and this little act of kindness brought a huge smile to my face. To my patients, I should be the one thanking YOU all!! You have created so many lasting relationships and memories that I will forever look back on fondly and cherish.

It is with a sad heart that I am announcing my resignation from Associated Family Physicians of Boca Raton. I have created so many relationships within my patient family that I will never forget any of you! Thank you for allowing me to advocate and care for you and your family.

I sometimes find that there is a large misconception between SSRIs and Benzodiazepines, whereas some are much more willing to take a benzodiazepine daily than even consider a daily SSRI.
The truth is, SSRIs are much safer, and are not habit forming. While benzodiazepines might give us that quick relief we desire with anxiety, they are easy to become habit forming especially if not taken or used correctly.
Ideally, an SSRI will (although slowly) help you long term with anxiety and or depression, where a benzodiazepine will help you temporarily. This article says all I want to say and more 🙂
FYI:
-SSRIs (prozac, Zoloft, celexa, Paxil, lexapro)
-Benzodiazepines (alprazolam, clonazepam, diazepam, etc)

My Journey towards a Dream to help others
How was my story inspired, and why did I want to become a Family Nurse Practitioner? It’s a simple answer; my brother. Patrick Michael Dugal, was born in 1985 with Sanfilippo Syndrome. In short, it is a debilitating disease that left my brother without the ability to walk, talk, and eventually unable to see. Throughout all of this, he remained strong and determined, and you would rarely find him without a smile on his face. His courageous self impacted me in such a way that I will never be able to see the world again without looking through a compassionate empathetic lens.
What inspired my decision? Literally a dream and a prayer.
My History? I served in the United States Navy as an Avionics Electronics Technician from 2004 until 2009. I traveled the country, and repaired radar equipment on the P3 Orion. This is where my little dream started. I knew that my discharge date was approaching, and my future was still unclear.
I prayed one night asking God for direction, and asked him to show me what my purpose was in life. That night I dreamt the most vivid dream I have ever had in my life. There was a large body of water, and on one side of the water my brother was lying on the beach sand, and on the other- was me. I realized that the water was encroaching onto the beach where my brother lie unable to move or walk. I realized in that moment that I needed to cross the water, and do whatever it took to rescue my brother. I walked across the water, fearless as I could be filled with adrenaline, and picked him up and carried him back over my shoulders as the water nearly reached my chin. I made it to the other side where suddenly a rescue team and an ambulance stood waiting. This is actually the moment I knew that I was destined to help others (there was ZERO doubt), and I knew that I was going to become a Nurse (which I finally did in 2011)!
