Vegetable Gardens & Edible Landscape
Consulting, Planning and Planting Service Hello! My name is Kathleen Porter.

I'm a wife of almost 18 yrs to Brian and a mother to 6 wonderful kids ages 14-4. Over the past few years, I have made it my hobby and passion to revitalize our backyard landscape into a diverse, edible landscape. I want my children to have access to homegrown fruits and vegetables while also knowing what it takes to get them! I also enjoy sharing this passion with friends and family when they came

Take advantage of this beautiful day and plant your garlic! 🧄 Plant it about 3-4” below the surface of the dirt and cover them up, that’s it! If you have leaves to put over the top as mulch, that’s great, but if not, that’s fine too.

Just an FYI, Idaho has a quarantine law for anything in the onion/garlic family to keep white rot out of our soil, so please only plant certified seed garlic/onion sets. 🙂

Sadly, we will be getting three mornings of frost or near frost, so I pulled what I could.

I’m pretty happy with this year’s last harvest. I hit a major wall of exhaustion in late June and was lucky to get these guys in the ground but I’m so happy that I did!

Mostly peppers and basil! Yum!

Harvest season! One hand is to use now and the other is for next year! Calendula.

Friendly reminder if you have blueberry plants! Now is the time to add Acid to the soil around the base of the plants 🙂

I simply grab a handful and rough it into the topsoil. Be careful to not go more than an inch deep as the roots on blueberries are very shallow and will be close to the surface.

Any of these brands are great!

Soon to be released - lotion bars! Clean ingredients, no added fragrance.

I have really sensitive and dry skin, so I know the importance of using gentle ingredients and very low fragrance. I have been using these for about 3 months and the results have been great! The calendula bar that I made was also a wonderful after sun lotion while we were on our vacation :)

Details coming soon!
