Our Growing Community
COMMUNITY is about doing something together that makes belonging MATTER! We LOVE our community❣️
Spring is coming (oh, yes it is!) Baseball anyone? Check out this amazing opportunity for kids of varying abilities to play in a league of their own! Below is a forwarded message with all the info:
Challenger Little League is starting up again for this year! Challenger Baseball is a non-profit organization that helps kids with disabilities and other special needs participate in a baseball league of their very own. It will run every Saturday from April 8 through June 24 this spring/summer.
The games begin at 6:30pm each Saturday. Families arrive at the baseball fields at Charles McDevitt Park in time to connect with their assigned team before 6:30pm. The park’s address is 5101 N Eagle Road in Meridian. This is the corner of McMillan and Eagle Road.
Each child may dress in clothing that is most comfortable for them as they participate in an outdoor activity. Each child receives a team t-shirt jersey and baseball hat. The cost Challenger collects to cover those items is $40 per child. Payment information is below.
A digital copy of the registration form is also attached below. Tammy Cluff is the superhero who makes all of this possible, so please get your form(s) to her as soon as possible. This secures your players a spot on a team. Tammy’s contact information is below. The form may either be mailed to Tammy or scanned and sent back via e-mail. Tammy prefers a scan over a picture. If you take a picture, please make sure it is JUST the form - and close enough that she can read every line.
Please be willing to volunteer to help with your player’s team. Challenger is a ALL volunteer program. Without coaches and team mom's/dad's there could not be a program for our players. If you have any questions about helping, please contact Tammy. Also, please share this information with anyone who has children (even adult children!) with special needs. People who work with our amazing kids are great options too! Share with teachers, Care Coordinators, therapy centers, etc. The more kids involved in the program the better for all of them!!!
Check or Money Order to Challenger L.L. may be mailed or you may use the PayPal account. Registration fee is still $40.00 by check, cash or M.O. PayPal charges $1.50 fee for a total of $41.50 (per player)
Sponsors: If you know a company that would be willing to sponsor a team for this season, please send Tammy their information or have them contact me with any questions. Thank you!
We know that many of our kids are immune compromised, so we will follow safety and cleaning protocols for the safety of our players, coaches, team moms and families. This includes cleaning helmets and bats between players, and more.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year and having a safe and fun season. ⚾️
Feel free to call Tammy with any questions.
