Kyphoplasty?! What's that?
Kyphoplasty and/or Vertebroplasty are procedures sometimes done for patients with lower thoracic and lumbar vertebral compression fractures, while other procedures like spinal fusion focus on stabilizing the spine. This requires careful placement of one or two needles in the vertebral body. With a kyphoplasty, a cavity is first created within the vertebral body with the additional step of creating space for the treatment with a balloon-like device. Slowly, an injection of a special cement containing dye is done while looking at an x-ray machine. Kyphoplasty can restore a damaged vertebras' height and may also relieve pain. It can help relieve pain and improve mobility without the need for extensive surgery. However, typically vertebral compression fractures do heal over time and can be treated with pain medications, bracing and/or facet/epidural steroid injections.

Hey every one, let’s talk about Epidural Steroid Injections, a serious relief for spinal related pain. This minimally invasive procedure injects anti-inflammatory medication into the spine’s epidural space targeting pain from compressed nerves or bulging discs. Ideal for sciatica, spinal stenosis, and herniated discs. Offering immediate relief!
Wanna know what a typical routine is for an epidural injection with PCB? Keep reading!
1) Preparation is key! Before the procedure, your healthcare team will provide instructions and answer any questions to ensure your comfort and safety.
2) Finding the perfect position during the injection is essential. Your doctor will guide and position your body to ensure accurate needle placement for a maximum effectiveness.
3) A clean injection site is crucial for preventing infections, and ensuring the best possible outcomes. Rest assured, your healthcare professional will carefully cleanse the area before hand.
4) Administering the medication comes next. Your doctor will expertly insert the needle into the epidural space, targeting the pain source directly.
5) Once the injection is complete, close monitoring is necessary to gauge your response and address any potential concerns. Your healthcare team will observe an assist throughout your recovery.

Did you know that Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is an innovative treatment option for shoulder pain? PRP therapy involves using your body's own platelets to promote healing in injured tissues, reducing pain and improving function.
During the procedure, blood is drawn from your arm and processed to concentrate the platelets. These platelets are then injected into the affected area, stimulating the body's natural healing response.
Unlike surgery or medication, PRP therapy is a minimally invasive and non-surgical option, with minimal downtime and side effects. It has shown promising results in treating conditions such as rotator cuff tears, tendinitis, and arthritis.
If you're suffering from shoulder pain and looking for an effective alternative to traditional treatments, consider PRP therapy. Consult with a qualified healthcare professional to determine if PRP therapy is right for you. Don't let shoulder pain hold you back - take control of your health today!

If she were to win the lottery, she would buy a bunch of land, build the house of her dreams for her and her family and have a ton of animals. Also... she would buy a car for every mood she's feelin'. 😎 Donna believes everything is a learning experience. She lives her life with no regrets. ❤️
Thank you thank you Donna for being apart of the PCB family. We love you!

Athletes commonly have injuries to tendons and ligaments. They don't have as good of a blood supply as other soft tissues in the body, and thus heal very slowly or sometimes the healing process will even stall due to scar tissue. PRP utilizes your body's own blood platelets to release an abundance of growth factors to helps speed up the healing.
Meet our team!! This is Kim, she is our Office Manager and also a CCMA.... and YES, she did make this gorgeous cake! When Kim is not at the office, she is working hard building her business, . Occipital headaches cause intense pain that begins at the bottom of your head and spreads to the scalp. When your pain doesn’t improve with conservative medical care, it’s time to consider occipital headache treatments.
Some treatments are:
• Steroid injections
• Radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
• Peripheral nerve stimulation(PNS)
A trigger point injection can help soothe myofascial pain, especially in your neck, shoulder, arms, legs and lower back. Trigger points are the painful “knots” in your muscles that can be very sensitive to touch/pressure. They may form after acute trauma or by repetitive micro-trauma, leading to stress on muscle fibers. If this sounds like something that has been impacting your day-to-day activities, give us a call and get a consultation scheduled. 😊
Meet our team! This is our Billing Specialist, Brooklynn! She has been with us for almost 5 years and we love having her here! If she won the lottery, Brooklynn would like to start up her own non profit and travel... A LOT. However, she wouldn't want to stay in an Airstream at the Grand Canyon again during winter... brrr!
Thank you for all you do here Brooklynn! ❤️
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome affects more than 12 million people. CTS causes pain, numbness and tingling in the hand and arm. A minimal procedure can remove this pain for you! Interested?
Meet our team! To the left is Alexa. She is our newest member here at PCB as our Medical Receptionist. When she was younger, she wanted to be a Marine Biologist, but some kid ruined her dream by telling her she couldn't because she lived in Oklahoma... the middle of nowhere. Haha!
When she's not at PCB, you can catch Alexa and her family at the park, on the Boise Greenbelt rollerblading or at home tending to her garden. Thanks for joining our team Alexa!
