Burke Family Farm
Follow along with us on our journey to become self sufficient on our little farm! Soon we will have
Hey friends, wondering if you guys could refer me to a local web designer. Got a few ideas floating around and need a website built! Please let me know!
It’s been a while since we’ve acknowledged and updated the BFF page due to new additions on the farm, both human and critters. We added a baby named Bridger, two sheep named Peter Parker and Mary Jane, and a bunch of birds. Thanks to all this rain, everything is in full bloom here and the animals are doing great!
Well my phone died half way through but captured some of our hard work. Phase 1: Creek is done, hoping the horse doesn’t ruin all our hard work.
Bobo climbed up for a better view while I was watering the animals 🐈 🐴 🐐
Is this satisfying to anyone else or just us?? HAPPY EASTER from the Burke family to yours! A special thank you to our girls who provided these beautiful eggs.
Few weeks ago, had some fun in the snow ❄️ ! Now we’re getting spring weather, almost time to start our seedlings for the garden 🪴 🌞!
We got ourselves a bird dog! Too bad he’s the same size as the birds 😆
Been a while since we’ve posted on the Farm page! Driggs and the goats finally enjoying some sunshine! ☀️
Welcome our newest member of Burke Family Farm!! Meet Riggins!😍😍 He is such a sweet, happy, clumsy, and cuddly pup! We love him so much already, and he is just adorable. He loves to follow you around everywhere and seems to have a special interest in Tugg. They constantly play together and then cuddle up on the couch when it’s time to relax. Riggins is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from the best breeder in Idaho- Brenda Morris!!🐶💙
So fulfilling and so much fun!!
After the kids are gone 😂😴
We are so happy that all of Bobo’s kittens have found a loving home. Even happier that we know all of the families they went to. With all the crazy ppl in the world, we were not about to give a free kitten to just anybody. It was a fun experience from Bobo being pregnant and super loving (which is rare haha), to us helping her give birth, to seeing her be a great mom and watching the babies grow!
Edit: he has found a new home!
This little guy has had a doll face since day one! Last baby to need a home! He’s becoming quite the little lover 🥰Message me if interested!!
SOUND ON 🔊 Every morning and every night, and it never gets old! ❤️ They have the best greeting (or demanding of breakfast or dinner) ever! 😂🐴🐐
Driggs is such a sweet boy; very affectionate and such a chill personality especially for only just turning 3! He’s so patient and gentle with the kids, and is the perfect first horse for us. It’s been a lifelong dream and he couldn’t have fulfilled it more! He follows you around like a puppy, never wants the loves and attention to end, and gives lots of kisses and hugs💕
Little guy went to his new home today! So glad “Hunter” is going to an amazing family that will love him and his sweet personality! He looks comfortable already💕🐾
Caption this photo of Carlton the turkey, winner gets a dozen eggs 😂🦃 Enjoy your Sunday!!
Hight’s came over for a BFF tour! Little petting zoo and horseback riding fun! We call Levi the “chicken whisperer,” pretty sure he held every chicken a hundred times😂 I was very impressed he was able to gently catch each one!
Garden has been doing well! It was a rough start with a bit of a bug infestation, but after trying neem oil and diatomaceous earth it seemed to help! If you have any recommendations for natural ways to get rid of bugs put in the comments below!
We did research on companions for horses and found out goats are commonly used to keep them company, so that’s when we found Rue and Clover! As you can see it worked out great for our Driggs, and I think it’s a pretty mutual friendship 😉🐴🐐
It’ll be hard to keep this one short, but Denali was the start to our animal family and has been with us for 4 years. She was a rescue and the first picture was the day I brought her home; as you can see has changed a lot since! It took a ton of dedication and training but she is truly amazing and I love her with all my heart. She’s so great with kids and all the animals (except the chickens she can’t be trusted with them lol) and she is just such a loving and loyal dog. ❤️🐾
This is one of my favorite things that Driggs does. Once he’s done working, he’s all sweaty and takes a little dust bath. He looks for a decent dirt spot, rolls around, then gets up and shakes it off and there’s a big cloud of dust. Powerful animal! He’s gonna do big things for our family!
Have you ever wondered the difference between bantam chickens and regular chickens? They are about half the size and Big Georgie here that I’m holding is my absolute favorite, so sweet and SO soft. Her eggs are pretty much bite size but I just love her. 🥚🍳Our other bantam turned out to be a rooster who crows pretty much all day, making up for his small size I guess 😂🐓
Here are the babies from my previous post 😍
Bobo decided to contribute to the Covid-19 baby boomers when her spaying appointment was cancelled, so we got a litter of kittens! 😹Definitely was not the plan but crazy things happen during quarantine 🤷🏼♀️ There is a calico female and tabby male, and the grey and white male already has a forever home! They are 6 weeks old so not quite ready to leave their mama, but are litter box trained and eating mostly kitten food. Pm if interested, we only want them going to homes where they become family!💕
This year we built our own full garden from scratch, including starting the plants from seed. 🌱🥕🍅It was our first time going all out like this and it took a ton of hard work and research, and of course just trial and error! Who knows how many plants I killed 😬 It has been so rewarding as we have started harvesting; all the hard work is paying off! Also our hens are doing so well, we have 3 starting to lay daily so far! Stick around to see before and afters on our big garden project 🤗
Rue needs to learn some manners; he’s lucky he is so cute though! This is how he asks for attention 😂🐐
Welcome to the Burke Family Farm! Our little family of 3 moved into our first house about a year ago and decided to start working towards our dreams and goals of the homestead lifestyle. We talked about it for a long time and decided it was never too late to get started, and we would work our way up! We worked over the past year researching and building a garden, horse shed and pasture area, chicken coop, and much more! Meet our rescue husky Denali, and our cat Bobo (who we thought would be a good mouser but is totally a house cat). We have 9 chickens that are now beginning to lay, and a turkey. Our newest member is our palomino gelding Driggs, and our Nigerian dwarf goats named Rue and Clover. All of our animals are family and are so loved! ❤️👨👩👦🐎🐐🐓🦃🦮🐈
