"Grace Acre Silkies" had a facelift, quite literally! After a four-year hiatus raising silkies we finally circled back around to working on our house. Hubby worked evenings and weekends pulling siding off, fixing all of the rotted boards underneath: then caulking, priming, painting. Plastered over the old raked brick; new door lights and wooden pillars. The real gem though are the handmade shutters with their 10 antiquing glazes. Thank you hubby for my beautiful house!

"Violet" was an absolutely adorable grow out, first picture. Then she went through a heavy molt as well as being one of our roosters "favorites". At a point I thought, wow this bird turned out very unattractive. So I let her hatch a baby giving her time to molt, get really good food and be away from the rooster...here she is, a couple of months later and just so gorgeous!

Idaho's "Grace Acres Silkies" wishes everyone a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! (I thought this little spoon rest shaped like the state of Idaho was Simply Irresistible! And of course "fairy eggs" look pretty cute on it!)

The obvious difference never ceases to amaze me! These are mama raised; the four in the house are sitting on toys underneath a red light! WOW

A good man is priceless! And this is the best "Little Man" ever. He watches over his girls, protects them and gives them all the treats. They truly are his life!

"Jeebie" (Lilibet's daughter) looks amazing and now another generation of "Grace Acres Silkies" thank you Marcie Ellison for sharing such precious pics. We love updates!

Thank you Dayna Marie Ross for sharing the adorable picture. I'm thinking you might have another "Cal-Belle" (our ASBC calendar chick) or maybe a "Faith Hill"...regardless with "Little Man Tate " as the daddy, you're gonna have a beauty!

Playing with Belle over this holiday season has been so precious. We love her so much!

Magnificent!!!
Gracie was the reason I fell in love with silkies-the first silkie I ever saw and she was magnificent.
I answered a local add for grow-outs and then out of the corner of my eye, I saw this utterly other-worldy peach fluff ball and I asked, "what IS that magnificent creature?"
A year later when the owner had a change in circumstances I was offered "Cheddar. " I drove her home to the farm in my lap. And she became "Princess Grace of Monaco" affectionately known as "Gracie" We 🌹💕❤️🌹 love you!

Lying peacefully with folded wing beautiful as ever...in death...as she was in life: Grace itself. We will miss you Gracie! The Lord gives and takes away blessed be the name of the Lord.

"Mini Me" (Miss Muppet's daughter) is looking great after her huge molt. She was pitiful...absolutely dreadful...just down to quills and skin; the only bird we've ever had that molted that heavily. But she sure is pretty now!
