Behind the Berm Farm is gearing up for the 2024 season. Two years ago we planted extra rhubarb which means we will have lots of it this year. I feel like it is one of those vegetables that is underrated. Who likes rhubarb?

Garlic harvest is happening. This haul is only 10 minutes of work tonight.

Just a reminder that this week we will have CSA share pick ups and deliveries. Next week, over Independence Day week, we are off. CSA will resume the week of the 11th.

It has been a while since we updated on farm progress. Tomatoes are in the ground along with cucumbers, zucchini, onions, shallots and leeks. First planting of corn is about 3 inches tall. Potatoes are peeking through and will be hilled up this week. Gathered these in the rain this morning. This wet and cool weather has been great for the springtime vegetables.

It's not raining, or snowing and we don't have 30+ mph winds. Perfect day for these baby lettuces to be transplanted in the garden.

How many times have you bought lettuce from the store and it only lasts 5-7 days? Buying fresh from the farm it can last up to 3 weeks and it tastes so much better than store bought! This year we are upping our lettuce game and are growing Yugoslavian Red, Lolla Rosa, Royal Oak Leaf, Buttercrunch, Igloo, Red Romaine, Prizehead, and Simpson Elite along with a few others. CSA pick ups tomorrow, Tuesday, 4-6:30

CSA pick up tomorrow, Tuesday, from 4-6:30.

Hi. Just a reminder that starting this Tuesday, the 15th, CSA pick ups will be between 4 and 6:30.

This week we start our CSA!

If you are picking up at the farm your day is today, Tuesday, June 1st. The first two weeks pick ups will be from 5:30 -7:30 pm (June 1st and 8th) . Starting June 15th pick ups will be from 4:00 -6:30 and run the rest of the season. We are at 3279 S Cloverdale Rd which is just south of Victory.

Deliveries will be Wednesday evenings.

The first two weeks in June our delivery/pickup schedule will be a little different because I am participating in an Urban Agriculture class.

We planted around 400 onions this year.

Making a rhubarb crumble tonight. It takes 2 years before you can harvest from a plant. This plant is now 3 years old and has tons of stalks.

We are sold out for 2021 shares. Thank you everyone! We may be selling some vegetables by the pound/unit later this summer and will post about that on FB.

Also, if you are driving down Cloverdale near Victory keep an eye out for our 5th graders 'on your honor' produce stand. He will likely open in late June and mostly sells tomatoes, peppers and corn.

This week we will be transplanting lettuce and broccoli to the outside beds as well as seeding beets and more carrots and potatoes.
