needs donations for their winter bike drive. Children’s and small adult sized bikes are preferred.
If you’ve got bikes to donate but no way to get them down to BBP hit us up and we can pick them up.
Time is of the essence, they’re trying to get several hundred bikes this week. Thanks in advance for your generosity, these bikes really make a big difference for the kids who are lucky enough to receive them.
Hey take a look at the project I (Jesse) have obsessed over for a bit. Our “Parkcenter Queen” project boasts rift and quartersawn white oak floors finished with a hardwax oil. They look like satin, feel like velvet. Oh la la! Also there’s some Carrara Gold marble that showcases the true superiority of natural materials, sorry quartz enthusiasts! The range has a built in sous vide! I almost fell down when I noticed it. And more! This was all envisioned by our champion homeowner who has impeccable taste and one of the best local art collections outside of
Just a gem of a home.
Hand made stone backsplash ooh la la
From the mountains of Carrara Italy I present to you: 3 sequentially sliced pieces o’ gold. These will end up in a creek side home in our beautiful little city of trees. Wait until you see them inside!

What are your “must have” items in a home renovation?
For this customer they were:
Stone so beautiful you’ll rethink the priorities in your life as you get a glimpse of heaven
and
Furniture grade cabinets that are basically a work of art finished with a sustainable, easy to refresh hardwax oil.
Almost done!
This isn’t just hard work. This is dirty, sweaty, itchy, suffocating, HARD work done by two smart men. Kent and Luke are the guys that tear your house down and then clean it all up again. They don’t complain while they work, they just work. They don’t leave when it’s “good enough”, they stay until it’s better than they found it. Kent and Luke understand they are working in your home, so they treat it with respect-and it shows. We are firm believers that demo says a lot about a company and we are so proud to work with these two.
Sure there are other parts of this home but this lil office is where you’ll find me! I got to visit a project we completed this spring and I am pretty jazzed about how it’s “wearing in” and so are the happy homeowners.
Welcome Jesse!
You’ve heard us singing the praises and you know we like to so it should come as no surprise that Jesse joined the Ogata Construction team. You will see him keeping a close eye on quality control on the job sites, as well as getting a first-hand peek into his wit and humor as he takes over this long-neglected account. We couldn’t be happier to have him officially on the team.
New college dorm decor or mocking up light placement for a homeowner? job is on the home stretch.
The most beautiful vanity I ever did see, waiting to be crowned with a stone vessel sink. killed it with this one and I’m almost sad to put anything on it. This is the same house as previously posted. Y’all going to lose your minds with the transformation.
A door so nice, it’s not to be used.
This remodel in the is going to blow your mind. If I can get a second to breathe, I’ll take you on a tour. For now, look at the beautiful light filtering in.

Am I right?
I’ll call you back as soon as I finish this salad...and this phone call..and reviewing this paperwork.
A small corner in a big remodel. These inset LED lights give the shelves a nice, warm and subtle glow. I’m taking my family to see this beautiful house, so I’ll bring you along for the ride. It’s a beaut.

Job-Walk Wednesday looks a little different these days. Brett and Danny visit a vacant home, walk through separately, and meet outside to discuss. Forgot your mask? Our office manager made COVID kits for each house, to make sure we protect our clients and workers. Want to meet for a consult? Danny will show up in a mask (we appreciate it when you do too), walk through with you (6’ rule in effect) and then continue the meeting outside to discuss the job details.
Danny decided he wanted to build himself an A-frame in Garden Valley. He had so much fun, he decided to sell it and do it again. You can see all the raw, behind-the-scenes, problem-solving, spousal arguments, and selection details at on Instagram. Check out the listing below.
What Ogata Construction looks like today: Cara (office manager) and Danny are both working from home, while the rest of the small crew are staying separated from one another as much as possible. Our current projects are all vacant homes and we are only scheduling 1 trade in the house at a time. As you might imagine, our jobs are all moving at a slower pace, but so far everyone is still healthy.
As far as meeting with new or potential clients, the 6’ rule is in full force with masks (to hide my COVID19 mustache) and I will stay in the house just long enough to learn what the project looks like, take pics, then we can chat more outside.
One major change is that we had to start locking our porta potties because lunatics were stealing the sanitizer and TP from them. It’s pretty inconvenient to type in a code to a lockbox when you but times, they are a changin’.
Thanks for sticking with us, keeping us busy as ever, and for not stealing our precious hand sani.
Remember the from last year? I finally snapped a picture of it last weekend. It was a fun project, and unlike any other home we have built. We typically only build custom when we aren’t remodeling in Boise, but this kit was a fun challenge. Once we can have more than 1 guy in a house at a time, I’ll get you some updated project tours. Stay tuned.
We have a couple weeks left on the project and we think it’s the coolest we have ever seen. Bold statement, sure. But that doesn’t mean it’s not true.
I usually like to flex in my bathroom selfies but I’m making an exception today. This is me, pondering a great meeting I had with a potential client. Or is it employer? Let’s just call each other team mates.
Last week, someone interviewed me as their potential remodeler. It was a legitimate interview with thoughtful, prepared questions. It was fantastic and I think everyone could benefit from learning about how he is, and YOU should, go about finding a suitable builder. I’ll even let you in on a little secret: builders are likely also interviewing you at the same time. Once I get a minute to breathe, I’ll jump on stories and recap the great questions he asked and maybe add a couple of my own.
Everything is important.
Once you take a look at these rooms, then a second closer look, you will notice the attention to detail that take the room from ‘nice’ to ‘wow’.

Homeowners are moving back in so I grabbed a few shots of the house. Once we get our hands on some professional shots, you’ll be treated with some epic before & afters. Until then, you’ll have to be satisfied with some little sneak peeks.
This before and after of this North End remodel is going to blow your mind. is killing it with the design and we can’t get enough of this beautiful cabinet detail.
If you watch our stories, you’ve seen the progress of this (and other) remodels. We have posted numerous tours of this house, showing the progress and before shots. Make sure not to miss them! It’s where all the nitty gritty goes down.

Progress pic on the in Garden Valley. Unlike all of our projects, this particular build is not for a client. I (Danny) decided to build the for a couple reasons:
1. Aframes are cool.
2. I wanted to test the waters and see if others felt the same.
3. I wanted a project that was 100% my own design.
It’s been a blast building something unusual and tailored to my personal taste-but it is a good reminder of what you all go through when trying to stay on budget with your selections. The struggle is real.
Gib and Danny, admiring their idea come to life. Would you believe that they drew out the entire layout of this house on the back of an envelope right after walking and measuring the lot? Check out our stories to hear them talk about the day they met with our lovely homeowner and came up with a floor plan.
