The Picnic in the Park FREE lunch program is going strong this summer thanks to the Boise School District and incredible volunteers including our friends from Horizon Credit Union. They helped hand out lunches at Winstead Park recentely, and this is the group's third year volunteering with us. Free lunch is available for kids and teens on weekdays from noon to 12:30 p.m. at Cassia, Ivywild, Sunset and Winstead Parks.
The Warm Springs Grill + Golf facility is under construction at Warm Springs Golf Course. The Boise River Greenbelt path along the north side of the Boise River that passes through the golf course is expected to remain open during construction. However, users should be aware of golf carts crossing the Greenbelt as well as heavy equipment working in the area.
Please slow down when traveling along the construction zone and pay attention to all posted signs, including stop signs at marked crossings, for your own safety. Temporary detours and re-routes near the construction site are expected as this project is built-out. We will ensure the necessary alerts are provided and signage is posted to communicate temporary re-routes as the project progresses. This may also require cyclists to dismount and walk their bicycle through the area.
Thank you for your attention and understanding as we keep the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and golfers top of mind throughout the project.

Three cheers for Max who recently completed his Eagle Scout project with the Ridge to Rivers trail crew! His project consisted of post and rope installation and step grading on Camel's Back Reserve trails. These improvements should help mitigate erosion on the hillside adjacent to the steps. The improvements also allow for vegetation to regrow and stabilize the cut bank. Max and his troop did an incredible job and we are so grateful!
Mark your calendar! Pending a drop in river flows and final hazard mitigation along the Boise River by the Boise Fire Department's Dive Team, the official Float the Boise River season starts Thursday, June 27. Visit floattheboise.org to start planning your trip.
Summer is here and Float the Boise partner agencies Ada County Parks & Waterways, Boise Parks and Recreation and Boise Fire are excited to announce the official 2024 float season on the Boise River will start on Thursday, June 27.
Float the Boise partners have been in regular contact with water managers at the Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who have been closely monitoring conditions on the Boise River. River flows are expected to drop below 1,500 cubic feet per second (cfs) next week, which is within the typical range for the official float season. This anticipated decrease in river flows will allow for Boise Fire to conduct additional mitigation of hazards next week along the popular six-mile stretch of river from Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park. Follow floattheboise.org for updates as the season opening approaches!
Summer is officially here! ☀️ It's one of our favorite seasons to enjoy Boise's parks, pools and trails. See you outside...
Our main office is closed today in observance of Juneteenth. The city's outdoor pools are also closed. Zoo Boise, city parks and Warm Springs and Quail Hollow Golf Courses are open! Have a great Wednesday, Boise.
